One Data Scientist Position and 2 Candidates! Who Got Hired? 🤔 In 2019, I worked at the Deloitte San Francisco office. My manager asked me to hire an entry-level Data Science candidate. I wanted to share a bit about my journey in the world of data science lately. It's been quite a ride—full of both challenges and exciting moments. As an entry-level data scientist on an F1-OPT visa, I'm feeling the pressure to find a job by April 30th. I graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology last December with a Masters in Computer Science, specializing in Data Analytics. Since then, I've been working hard to sharpen my skills. From personal projects to Coursera courses, I've been learning and growing every step of the way. I've become pretty handy with tools like Python, R, SQL, Tableau, and AWS. During my internship at Ascent Technosystem, I got to lead a project implementing Power BI for an automotive client. It was a game-changer, cutting data analysis time by 30% and making operations run smoother. Plus, I discovered I have a knack for explaining complex data in a way that makes sense to everyone, not just the techies. Before that, I was a Project Engineer at Wipro Technologies, where I got to flex my skills in automating manual processes using Java Spring Boot. It was all about saving time and making things more efficient. Now, I'm on the lookout for opportunities as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or Business Analyst anywhere in the US.
