⚡ Media release ⚡ In last-minute talks ahead of a hearing at the Fair Work Commission today, the IEU reached a deal with the AIS that includes substantial pay rises and improved conditions in new three-year multi-enterprise agreements (MEAs) for teachers and other staff in 244 independent schools across NSW and the ACT. “This is an outstanding outcome, driven by thousands of highly engaged union members,” said IEUA NSW/ACT Branch Secretary Carol Matthews. “The new agreements are a real testimony to the members who stood together for a better deal, and we thank and congratulate them on this historic win.” ✊

📢 New Academic Report 📢 | 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 In the light of the EU Commission’s proposal for a Regulation on the Use of Railway Infrastructure in the Single European Railway Area (SERA), a new academic report has been published by Professor Thomas Ehrmann of the University of Münster in Germany. This report critically examines the concept of clockface timetables, using data and empirical evidence from Sweden, Spain and Switzerland as well as assessing its implications for Germany under the proposed 'Deutschlandtakt'. The findings raise significant concerns about the potential impact of integral clockface timetables on societal welfare, occupancy rates, utilisation by passengers, operational flexibility, and overall profitability. #rail #train #transport #study #europe #capacitymanagement #eu
