This is a thought provoking partnership. I've admittedly never analyzed any hard data on the average wash rate of leased vs. owned car owners, but I'd be very surprised if leased car owners wash at the same rate and average frequency of owned car owners. Nonetheless, it's an exciting partnership. I look forward to seeing how this goes as well as if there are partnerships to come with other multi-state carwash operators and car lease programs. #carwash #partnerships #carwashing

When renting a car, it's easy to get caught off guard by hidden fees that can quickly inflate the cost of your trip. To navigate these potential pitfalls, start by scrutinizing the rental agreement for any unexpected charges, such as extra driver fees or airport surcharges. Have you ever considered the benefits of renting off-airport or checking your credit card for rental insurance coverage? #carrental #hiddenfees #traveltips #carrent #carrental #rentacar #rentcar #carhire #car #carrentals #rent #sewamobilmurah #balirentcar #balitour #luxurycars #carrentalservice #cars #bali #rental #travel

How Goldcar Rental let us down 😩 When we travelled abroad, we got into the habit of regularly renting cars at the airport. It's convenient, fast and mostly reliable. Unfortunately, we hit a limit with one of the companies. My colleague Filip Mrva is young and although he has been driving a motorcycle since he was 16 in the Czech Republic and a car since he was 18, in Bologna, Italy, an employee refused to give him a car because he didn't meet the age limit. This would be understandable, unfortunately the ordering system did not show him this limit, even in the order it clearly marked that he was not yet 21 years old and the order went through as standard. The company took the money for the rental car and the insurance (full payment, of course). Upon arrival, the company staff refused to release the car to the colleague, saying he did not meet the condition. We are now exchanging emails with Goldcar Rental and trying to get at least some of the money back. The company claims that the terms and conditions state this (unfortunately they have dozens of terms and conditions, one for each rental company). So how is it possible that the ordering system will let you go despite such a serious condition and take your money? 🤔 In addition to losing a sum of money (about €250), we had to pay again with another company for a replacement car. Not to mention that it cost additional time and brought a lot of complications due to delays. So if you want to rent a car from Goldcar Rental, be careful not to be left standing by the roadside with a suitcase and an empty wallet. Their order form contains errors, their staff are rude and the terms and conditions make no sense. This is definitely not how I envision pro-customer service in the 21st century 🙅♀️

How it will work: · TICKET ISSUING SYSTEM Integrated with GenexIMS to capture all rental car infringement details · DRIVER LOOKUP GenexIMS automatically identifies rental vehicle driver through integration with rental company contract data · CONTRACTUAL Rental company contract retains driver details and credit card data until all fines, tolls etc. are paid · IMMEDIATE PAYMENT Fine is automatically paid via GenexIMS portal (Council branded) to Council’s payment gateway using driver credit card details · NO CHASING UP Payment processed, case closed - virtually in real time Up to 20% of unpaid fines are attributed to rental vehicles. Here are five essential things to keep in mind for a smooth rental experience: Book Early and Compare Rates: Booking in advance usually leads to better deals. Use comparison websites and check rental company websites directly for exclusive discounts that might not be available elsewhere. Inspect the Car Before Driving Off: Always take the time to inspect the vehicle for any existing damage before you drive away. Document any issues with photos to avoid disputes when returning the car. Know the Fuel Policy and Hidden Fees: Familiarize yourself with the rental company’s fuel policy (e.g., full-to-full) and be aware of potential hidden fees, like late return charges or additional driver fees, to avoid any surprises later. Join Loyalty Programs: Signing up for rental company loyalty programs can help you earn points and access perks like free upgrades and discounts. We just spent 3.5 weeks in Spain. We've never really done car rentals before, but we did some preliminary math and decided to do it. The following is a summary of it. The main argument for it was that we were 5 people - 3 adults and 2 kids. It's the most inefficient number as you can't fit into any taxi. I did a bunch of research and comparisons beforehand and decided to go with Malagacar. It had a lot of good reviews and was definitely one of the cheaper ones. The basic rate was 617€. Two booster seats for the kids were a total of 60€ extra, which was one of the cheapest rates for booster seats anywhere. 677€ total sounded OK for a small hybrid. There's a REQUIREMENT that you pay with a credit card, so I actually ordered a credit card beforehand as well. Upon arrival I was asked to pay a 1200€ deposit in addition to the 677€. What the F.. !? I was not prepared for that at all. Now looking over the contract I believe it's this sentence, which is super non-obvious, "Vehicles that are in groups ... have an all risk insurance with 1200 € excess." Would you gather by reading it that the car rental would ask you a 1200€ deposit? Anyways, they offered an upgrade to the "pro" package that doesn't have the deposit requirement for about 270€ extra, which I took. Total cost for the rent itself: 950€ Most of the rest went well. On the second day I invested like 8€ in a chinese shop for a phone mount to help with the navigation. Best investment ever! Fuel cost was almost exactly 100€. We drove a total of about 1600km. The toll roads added about 20€ to it, which was well worth it - the traffic is so much more relaxed on toll roads. What cost us a lot in the end was parking - 217€ in total. 160€ of it was a parking fine in Malaga where I knew I had to go update it by 9am, but there was a specific sign nearby saying that this particular area needed to be free by 8am. I got there in time to see the tow truck starting to move. 30 seconds later I would have had no idea what happened, thinking my car had been stolen. All together 1286€ for 24 days. Almost twice the cost we initially thought we would have. Without the parking fine it's about 47€ per day. Could we have done cheaper by using public transportation? Definitely. Did we know how? Nope. Then again, we had a lot of freedom to just go to that particular hilltop to see the sunset and stuff like that.

Another post about e-scooters 🛴 I have seen on the news today that a Professor at the University of Bristol has set up a petition, urging for the trial of e-scooters in Bristol to come to an end. This follows the death of a man last month, who was riding an e-scooter. I also saw in the news that someone had been photographed riding an e-scooter along the hard shoulder of the motorway (https://lnkd.in/ebfvmv9f) and this is not the first time this year that someone has ridden on the motorway in Bristol/Somerset. I recently wrote a post about how Melbourne in Australia stopping e-scooter schemes due to safety concerns, although private e-scooters on the road are allowed in Australia, unlike England (https://lnkd.in/erznrTR4) It seems like many cities in the UK who were part of the e-scooter trial have either ended the trial, or removed themselves from the trial list. I am torn between my views on e-scooters. On the one hand, they are clearly much better for the environment and they reduce the amount of cars on the road and the associated congestion. However, it is clear that more safety measures are required before the use of them nationally is brought into law. I am a firm believer that helmets should be MANDATORY (and not just for e-scooters, for cyclists too!). What do you think? ❓ A reminder of some of the main rules surrounding e-scooters: 👉 It is illegal to ride privately-owned e-scooters on the road (due to the requirements of insurance, safety standards and number plates etc which at present, private e-scooters are not able to comply with). You can only use these on private land with permission of the owner. 👉 The e-scooters that are part of the trial (previously Voi, now TIER) ARE legal to use. 👉 They should not be ridden on the pavements. They should be ridden on roads (but NOT the motorway), or on cycle lanes/tracks. 👉 Users must have a valid driving licence (either full or provisional); 👉 Although helmets are not mandatory, they are recommended. The Imperial College London has previously done a study surrounding e-scooter accidents. In 56% of the test accidents were to the forehead and skull, which could have been reduced by wearing a helmet. (https://lnkd.in/efSf2yKT.) You can read more about this in my previous blog for Barcan+Kirby's website here: https://lnkd.in/diS-uBB https://lnkd.in/eRyA8bR7 #EScooters #ElectricScooters #Bristol #EScooterTrials
