Did you know that today is world mental health day?? What does 'mental health' even mean? For some it might mean getting out of bed in the morning. For some it might mean nailing a proposal and then going for a 5k run. It doesn't really matter. What matters is that we acknowledge where we are. And keep moving forward. A simple tool to help with our mental health is to celebrate our wins. 'Yay I got out of bed' or 'Yay I nailed that proposal and did that run.' Try writing a list of 10 things that you have accomplished. It can contribute significantly to your mental health! Go you absolute legend!

A message to all researchers this mental health week... It's easy to get carried away with everything you see online the amazing breakthroughs, the amazing progress and the amazing milestone. But as we speak to more and more researchers the positives never come without the stuggles. It's completely normal but many people don't like speaking up about this. The reality is everyone researcher and person goes through low moments but they don't like sharing this side of their story. So this mental health week let's reflect on the not so good moments because this is part of life and the more we speak up about this, then the more comfortable the conversation becomes. Check-in on your fellow researchers.
