John Jim supported the Drexel Hockey team with good friends, Bob Pyne, Bill Damico, and Kristine Sambuco. The connection runs deeper than just the love of golf and ice hockey, as many have kids who are tied to the program. QUESTION OF THE WEEK What are the new rules for USA HOCKEY going to impose on youth hockey next season? ANSWER We don't know when the announcement will be coming but to do the organizations players and parents justice it should had already been announced We will just do bulletpoints 1) system will follow Hockey Canada regarding roster spots 2) can not do multiple team tryouts or have multiple offers without declining first one Those are 2 main points we are hearing so teams need to pick the right player. Players and Parents need to pick right team. Teams with later tryouts their teams will suffer. Get an advisor to do your talking to teams players with advisors will get preferred treatment in most cases #askus #staytuned #stayinforned https://lnkd.in/gbADQpYR

Did you know that promoting youth sports engagement can improve adult fan commitment by 55%? The NHL and NHLPA have mastered this approach through impactful programs and initiatives for youth. Learn to Play is one of their standout programs, which is designed to help more families join the hockey community. It reduces barriers to entry by providing young players with equipment, ice time, and coaching, and helps them discover their love for the game. The value of learning to play hockey goes beyond skating and puck-handling skills. It helps kids to develop life skills such as responsibility, respect, perseverance, and teamwork. By learning to fall and get back up again, they’re teaching kids to be resilient while they create memories with new friends. Investing in the youth of today means more passionate fans for a lifetime. #NHL #hockey #sportsindustry

Check out Kali’s feature articles on a few of the players!
Brand Communications Assistant at Wisconsin Athletics | Journalism and Strategic Communications Student
As we dive into the college hockey postseason, I wanted to share some fun projects I got to be a part of recently. Over the past few months, I've had the pleasure of working with our Wisconsin men's hockey student-athletes to write a handful of feature articles. Each player had a unique story to share, from Midwestern pride to jellyfish-printed suits to a special connection with a 1986 Paul Simon song. I had a blast putting these stories together and am so excited to highlight more of our exceptional student-athletes next season! NOW Taking SANTA BOOKINGS for Nov and Dec 2024, Community Builder/Communication and Content Creator/Sports Marketer/Grassroot Sport Advocate/Speaker and MC
Earlier this spring, Calgary hosted an unforgettable event—the HEROS Hockey SUPERHeros Friendship Series. It's moments like these that remind us of the true essence of sport and recreation. This video captures why it's crucial to keep sight of what sports are truly about. Sure, I love it when our country wins medals or dominates in a sport, whether it's through the outstanding achievements of individual athletes or teams. But it's not a one-or-other equation. We must ensure that everyone has the opportunity to access and enjoy sports. While I appreciate the calls for funding and planning for elite athletes, it's equally important to focus on the grassroots level. The foundation of sport lies at the bottom of the pyramid, where everyone can find a pathway to be active for life. The SUPERHeros weekend has taught me an invaluable lesson: it's not the athlete's job to meet the needs of the sport; rather, it's the job of the sport to meet every athlete where they are. Let's continue to champion inclusive sports initiatives and create opportunities for all to participate, grow, and thrive. Together, we can build a future where sport is accessible to everyone, ensuring healthier, happier, and more active communities. #HEROSHockey #SUPERHeros #InclusiveSports #ActiveForLife #GrassrootsSports #CommunityBuilding #BiggerThanHockey
