Global pressure weighs heavily on donors and foundations as they strive to meet the escalating demands placed on INGOs, NGOs, and CBOs. Consequently, many nonprofit organizations find themselves grappling with the challenge of maintaining service delivery amid heightened demand and dwindling funding. As Business Development practitioners, we bear a duty of care. Collaborating closely with our respective country teams, we must navigate resource constraints adeptly. To achieve more with fewer resources, consider the following strategies: 1. Efficient Resource Allocation: - Prioritize high-impact activities aligned with your strategic priorities. -Invest in training and development to enhance staff skills on quality implementation. - Strengthen strong level of accountability and transparency within your system. - Value for money in your operation and programming -Continue to leverage and synergies with other actors. 2. Engage Donors Effectively: - Refresh your business plan for effective resource mobilization. -Review donor mapping plan -Strengthen systematic relationship with the current donors. -Maintain strategic communication with donors & partners for effective resource mobilization - Network and collaborate on sharing donor intel for new business opportunities. 3. Advocate for Organizational Growth: -Strengthen the capacity for country team for strategic growth and development. -Emphasize that sustainable growth is prerequisite for nonprofit making organisation  

This morning, I read an interesting post by Brieanna Quinn, MA about the coming changes in fundraising. I thought she made some good points and I particularly liked Ann Kolakowski, CAP®, CFRE (Ann is always insightful) comment about how many organizational cultures make adaptation difficult. I thought I would chime in one something I thought should be part of the discussion of change and that is, what will stay the same. What, in a generation, will be the in fundraising as it is today? In my world (which is mostly major gifts), I like to think that the following will be no different in a generation than it is today. 1) People will want to make an impact on something that they care very deeply about, 2) Giving (or mostly large dollar giving), will be done through a conversation between a fundraising professional and a prospect/donor and 3) organization's will require more (and more) resources to in order to keep the promises they have made to their communities. While I feel that we need to be ready to adapt, I also like to think that we should be equally vested in becoming really good at those components of our profession that have staying power. Shouldn't we, as fundraisers, spend as much time honing our ability to guide donors through their giving journey with the same (or more) energy that we spend on trying to figure out how the latest trend will affect our work? I can't help but thinking that improving listening and understanding what a donor wants their social legacy to be will be more transformative to our work than any tech solution. Is there a place for new innovations? Absolutely! Can it help us do our job? 100% In a nonprofit world in which donor participation is declining, I hope to see an equal emphasis be placed on improving our profession's core components.

Criteria: - A tech product that has improved quality of life for people either on a local, national or international level.
