Happy π Day from BEAM! At BEAM, we eat a lot of pizza, which led us to ponder a perplexing problem: Let’s say a pepperoni-loving mathematician orders this two-topping pizza to celebrate Pi Day with a friend who happens to love math and mushrooms. Is it possible for them to split such a strangely sliced pizza, so that each gets exactly half of the pizza entirely adorned with their favorite topping? Is the mathematician delighted or disappointed by this unusually divided pizza? Check out our reflection on the pizza pie theorem, which involves pi and pizza-cutting, on our blog. You'll also find fun photos showing just how big our love of pizza is! https://buff.ly/3TA0Fdp #PiDay #πDay

Math Moment! What is a Fraction? A fraction is a way to show part of a whole! It's like a pizza cut into slices - the top number (numerator) tells you how many slices you have, and the bottom number (denominator) tells you how many slices the pizza was cut into! Example: 3/4 means you have 3 slices out of a total of 4 slices! #MathMadeEasy #Fractions #LearnWithUs

Here is a life hack: Do something you love with people you love. I love making pizza, but what pushes me to make pizza every week is doing something with my family every week. This video is about half of the pizzas I made over the last year, but they represent more than just good food. These pizzas represent 2 hours every Friday night over 26 weeks I spent with my kids making pizzas. #pizzanight #pizzaoven #memoriesinthemaking
