Sit and think for a few moments about how you handle your conversations? How much talking are you doing? Most of you won't have the luxury of being a total newbie so that you can just shut up because you don't know what to say. Most who read this will have lots of experience or at least enough to be considered a knowledgeable source in your industry. Take some time today to sit and think through how much listening you've done in your conversations lately. If you feel like you've been pitching a lot, then you probably been talking too much. Today go be a human; go be friendly. #peopleskills #sales
How Jeb Blount Jr. sold $5 Million in real estate just by listening, when he was an intern in marketing. Allowing people to talk, whether interesting and intriguing or not, is extremely important when it comes to sales! #sellmore #realestate #marketing #intern #turned #to #sales #professional

Today marks 6 months since Grace Meyer joined The Sweeney Group as our Digital Marketing Specialist! I am thrilled and grateful to have Grace at my side! Of course, I love that Grace is a Shaker Heights High School graduate! Actually, Grace and Allie's paths crossed there as classmates. Now also a graduate of Elon University, Grace brings her degree in Strategic Communications with a minor in Psychology to the world of real estate. Make no mistake, those two specialties are essential to success for our clients. In fact, that pretty much sums up a day in the life of a real estate team! Grace also brings experience executing a wide range of digital marketing tactics through internships during and after her time at Elon. I'm sure you've noticed an incredible difference in our social media since Grace took charge! Our brand, our reach, our everything is elevated farther than I could have hoped for in only 6 months. And, Grace is doing much more than just that, especially to support our listing clients to ensure we present their home in the best light in a multi-channel campaign. THANK YOU, GRACE - for all you do now and what I imagine you will be doing in the years ahead! You might not have envisioned yourself in real estate yet here you are and immediately successful. #togetheryourmove #newhire #realtorlife #marketing #marketingdigital

Today, we’re excited to spotlight John Carroll, a Capital Markets intern and rising senior at Clemson University, majoring in Financial Management with an emphasis in Real Estate. This summer, John is working with our Capital Markets team, contributing his analytical skills and passion for finance to our research and sales efforts. In his short time at CenterSquare, John has already made a significant impact, and we look forward to seeing his continued contributions. Read on to learn more about John. 1. What is the best piece of professional advice you have ever received? The best piece of professional advice I have received is stay committed to doing your best work consistently, whether or not anyone is watching. 2. What is your greatest professional/academic accomplishment thus far? One of my most significant professional accomplishments to date has been the establishment of my boat detailing company. I partnered with local marinas and boating clubs to conduct my business. I hired and trained a team to assist me with the operations. Building and leading the company was a great experience and very fulfilling. 3. If you could share some advice with your younger self, what would it be? If I could share some advice with my younger self, it would be to take risks. Embrace failures and use them as opportunities to grow and develop. Strive for your goals and never be afraid of the outcomes. 4. What is at the top of your bucket list? A goal of mine is to get a pilot’s license. Last year I participated in a demo flight which sparked my interest in aerospace. Soaring through the sky at 10,000 feet and being the one in control of the aircraft felt surreal. 5. If you could try something knowing you would not fail, what would it be? I would want to travel through a black hole. I have read many theories that black holes could potentially allow time travel into the future and or the past. Also, some black holes could be linked to different regions of the universe. If I were to travel through a black hole, I could potentially unlock one of sciences biggest mysteries. #CenterSquare #SummerInternship #Spotlight

It’s almost like it’s not official till it’s a social media graphic 😅 PJ Bellantoni and I have been working on the foundation and visibility of Bold City Sports for Change for the past year. We’ve been intentionally creating something solid so we can move with maximum impact. And even before that, Bold City Sports for Change was AP’s 3 KEYS, where the vision and all the ideas started. We’ll take the acknowledgment and support however and whenever it comes. This spring and summer are looking like opportunities for amazing impact, starting with the hiring of a few incredible interns. I never realized how much people believe in our mission to create and enhance cultures in athletics that make athletes feel more HUMAN till we started interviewing intern candidates. We’ve seen the best and the worst of athletics…and we strongly believe that mental development, intangible skills, and positive cultures that encourage true growth allow athletes to excel in and out of their sports. We believe it enough to create an entire business model around it. This may be the first time some people are noticing what we’re actually doing…but it’s not the beginning and we’ve got many, many more years of impact ahead of us! I can’t wait to see where this summer and our awesome team take us!! 💪🏽 #impact #change #positivechange #corevalues #sports #sportsindustry #linkedinsports #athletics #culture #cultureunderconstruction

There are only two metros that entered 2024 with more occupied office space than before the pandemic: 1. West Palm Beach 2. Las Vegas WPB is averaging sub-10% vacancy across all submarkets. This has led to an average rent growth of 2.6% over the last 12 months and 22.4% over the past 3 years. The South Florida market is dynamic, fast-paced, and volatile for tenants. McCann Commercial helps occupiers: • Identify opportunities for new office space • Ensure favorable terms upon renewing in existing space • Securing space for start-up firms • Need to expand, contract, or reconfigure existing space Great research from Sajan Blum who just kicked off his summer internship with the McCann team up in Philly!

Planning, Design, and Construction at Tennessee State University • Civil Engineering Undergraduate • Leader
I’ve learned, as my internship with Greystar is now complete, that development is rooted in community. From the in-office team to the on-site team, investors, consultants, and the tenants, it’s clear that to truly invest and grow in this sector of real estate, there must be a passion for connecting individuals to solutions. My goal was to develop a retroactive development cost yield model that could account for being accretive as interest rates and construction costs fluctuate. While this was my capstone, I learned and had a lot of help from teams in property, #construction, investment, and asset management with how to utilize capital efficiently to find the highest and best use for land. It all came down to a vision for dirt. As magnificent as the final product may appear, the diligence the teams take to prioritize investor’s demands while ensuring an opportunity to trade the asset in forecasted years is amazing work. I truly appreciated the opportunity to work alongside my mentors—Jordan Egan , Kurt Hoelscher, Ashley Zubizarreta, Remy Midkiff, Mai Olaussen, and Brian Herwald — as we navigated different underwriting processes, investments, and discussions about what it takes to achieve solutions in this business. I gained skills in market analysis, financial modeling with and without tax abatements, site and market analysis, contract litigation, quality control, valuation techniques, and observed cross-team leadership—all in just 10 weeks. From the first day, the train never stopped moving, and the learning was an inclusive and immersive experience. This opportunity has encouraged me to continue pursuing my career goal of introducing infrastructure-led development to communities in need of attainable mixed-use #housing. The view is from the office, one of the many to help the team decompress when the investments needed just a little extra time to pencil out. With all that said, I’ll be continuing to work alongside the Houston Development team as a program manager for Project Destined annual Greystar Development Cup. This opportunity will allow me to keep working with the Houston development team and encourage others to pursue their passions for becoming future real estate owners. #internship #realestate #engineering

When you get to work with your own daughter... Sure, I've seen my daughter Chase Carpenter in action. I've seen how her smile and positive energy can draw people in. I've watched her rally groups of young women, whether it's for pure fun and community development, or it's for a purpose-driven event, meant to move the needle. She's an organized, efficient, and magnetic leader. So you may imagine my pride getting to work alongside her this past summer at The Lola. The Lola is a vibrant, women's community space where I've been co-working for the past year and a half. I've also contributed some work to The LOLA team, helping Dana Xavier Dojnik with project management processes and content marketing; starting and co-leading a weekly accountability group with Melissa Uppelschoten, now led by superstar Qiana Avery, SHRM-CP; and co-facilitating the monthly, in-person Founders & Freelancers group with the incomparable energy-shifter Kafi London. In short, being part of The LOLA community has been my jam. When The LOLA accepted Chase as an intern last spring, I knew she'd fit right in. She understood the assignment: to help support the powerful network of inclusive, female entrepreneurs and women in business who want to build a life and career in which we are constantly growing, thriving and succeeding. It's exciting to see young women realize and embrace their own power. It makes me wish I knew what they already know when I was in my 20s! But it was a different time and we were ALL different people. :) I'm excited to keep my focus on what's ahead for all of us. Because women - young, mid-life and wise - will change the world. Established women in business and emerging female leaders: if you haven't felt it yet, lean in. And lean in HARD, because our time is NOW. #WomenInBusiness #FemaleLeadership #NextGenLeaders #MotherDaughterTeam #EmpowerWomen #WomenSupportingWomen #CommunityLeadership #FemaleEntrepreneurs #MentorshipMatters #TheLOLA #WomenWhoLead #CareerGrowth #InclusiveLeadership #YoungLeaders #WomenEmpowerment

That stereotypical image of working on Wall Street? I lived it. ⭐️ Cecily McCormack ‘24 🏠 Rutland, VT 📓 Business Administration: Finance 💼 Sales and Trading Fixed Income Intern at Cantor Fitzgerald Most people probably wouldn't opt to spend their winter break working away from home. But when the opportunity to spend the month in NYC at one of the top financial firms in the world popped up, I said yes. Absolutely, yes. And I've already learned SO much here. All these things I knew from UNH, I now get to apply to the real world. My internship was really hands-on. Essentially, I learned how salesman and traders go about selling and trading bonds. It's the perfect combination of both personable and analytical skills. Matching clients with the right assets is like a puzzle – and I love putting all the pieces together. I'm so thankful Paul's internship opportunity fund awarded me $2,500 to take this opportunity. Between NYC rent, commuting, and food, I didn't have to dip into my savings to be here. Which is just amazing. Nobody in my family has connections to the finance world, so I got this opportunity through sheer determination. I've been messaging alums and finance professionals on LinkedIn for years - probably hundreds of people at this point! Most people don't respond, but a managing director at Cantor Fitzgerald did. He gave me book recommendations and SO much advice. And then, in the fall he invited me to NYC for some informal networking/interviewing. (I got to chat/interview with the COO!) That led to this. I've had so much support on this journey from my professors. They're always willing to go the extra mile to help. Russ Miles even showed me how the subway system worked! I still check in with him weekly. Winter internships offer so much more one-on-one attention and real work. If you get the opportunity, just do it. I've fallen in love with this work and this city. You'll definitely find me in NYC after graduation. #PaulPride
