Ever catch yourself with a furrowed brow? I often notice myself having one, especially while taking walks. 🦮🚶🏻♂️ It might be silly, but here’s the twist—sometimes I’ll intentionally smile as I walk (like I did this morning), and I feel immediately happier and more positive. Surely there’s some science to the chemicals this is releasing, but regardless there is a lesson in how we approach work and life too. Because it isn’t just about personal mood—it’s a philosophy I try to be apply at Arrows too. As CEO, I’ve seen how our team’s positivity shapes our approach to customer interactions. Treating every interaction with warmth and respect sets a tone that resonates throughout our company. It’s about steering the momentum in a direction that reflects our values and aspirations. Of course, we’re all human and there are days or weeks when negativity creeps in. Recognizing this allows us to course-correct, ensuring we stay aligned with our vision (especially over the long turn). This has been on my mind this week as I’m reflecting before our team offsite next week, considering what I want to talk about as we set the stage for the years ahead. I’m mindful of how our collective mindset shapes our future at Arrows, how big we dream, and how confident we are in our ability to achieve it. Start your day with rhe belief it’ll be a good day, smile a bit, and see what happens.

Does it feel like you’re constantly striving, but never quite arriving? We get so caught up in the hustle of life and leadership, don’t we? Always juggling responsibilities, meeting expectations, and trying to keep it all together. And somewhere along the way, we lose sight of who we really are. We start tying our worth to our titles, our productivity, or what others think of us. And it’s exhausting. It feels like no matter how hard we work, it’s never quite enough. But here’s the truth. Your worth isn’t something you have to hustle for. It’s already yours. It’s grounded in who you are in Christ, not in what you do or how perfectly you do it. When you embrace your true identity, everything changes. You can lead with confidence and security. You can make decisions with clarity and peace. And you can live in the freedom that comes from knowing you are already enough. I know it’s not easy to quiet the noise and let go of all the expectations. But it’s possible. And when you do, you’ll see that you don’t have to strive to be worthy. You already are. Here’s my truth: I’m deeply passionate about the two start-ups I’m building, as they align perfectly with my purpose of bringing individuals and communities into alignment, achieving balance and harmony. But here’s the paradox—I don’t like the word ‘work' because it makes me feel like I don’t like work. Why? Because, for me, ‘work’ has always felt exhausting. It’s a word that brings up memories of stress, long hours, and personal sacrifice. I used to thrive on the adrenaline of it all, thinking that the stress and long hours were necessary for success. But in reality, they were masking a deeper issue. Back then, work was my mask. It was my way of seeking security through achievements and external validation. But now, in a completely different professional environment, I’ve had the space to reflect on what ‘work’ really means to me. And I’ve realized that it no longer serves me in the way it used to. Congruence with my values and purpose is something I fiercely commit to every day. And, knowing that language shapes our reality, I’ve decided to shift my language and my mindset. So, I don’t ‘work’—I create. I create opportunities to feel fulfilled by living my life purpose through my businesses. Are you in congruence with what you do, day in and day out? It’s a powerful question to reflect on. Consider the language you use—how might it serve you better, in a way that nurtures your well-being and aligns with your truth?

Putting Yourself Out There... ... A New Perspective When we talk about "putting ourselves out there," many of us instinctively think about taking risks or stepping out of our comfort zones to chase our dreams. But lately, I've come to see this phrase in a new light. It's not just about what we can achieve for ourselves. It's also about making ourselves visible so that those who need our help can find us. We've all faced challenges and moments of doubt. Often, the solution or support we need is closer than we realize, sometimes, they're just one conversation away. Imagine if the people who have overcome similar struggles hadn't shared their stories or offered their help. Many of us might still be feeling lost or stuck. By putting yourself out there, you're not just stepping into the spotlight for personal gain. You're becoming a beacon for others who might be navigating the same stormy seas you've weathered. Your experiences and insights can be the lifeline someone else desperately needs.

Are you your own toughest critic? Many of us, at some point in our professional journey, face the daunting shadow of doubt. With questions like, "Are you really good enough?" or "Why would anyone listen to me?" A hurdle that can keep you from recognising your true worth. The very fact that you're questioning your value shows you care deeply about the impact of your work. It's a sign of your commitment to excellence, not a reflection of inadequacy. I've been there, standing at the edge of imposter syndrome, wondering if my methods, honed through years of one-on-one client work, could translate into a workshop setting. The fear of not delivering enough value, of not living up to expectations, can cause 1 am-4 am worries. But here's what I learned. → Believing in yourself isn't just a feel-good mantra. it's a strategic move. → Your unique approach, your method, and your insights are invaluable because they are yours. → No one else brings the same combination of experiences, skills, and passion to the table. → When you back yourself, you give others permission to do the same. → Your journey, with its ups and downs, serves as a roadmap for others navigating their path of self-doubt. So, to anyone standing on the precipice of their next big challenge, remember this... Your value isn't just in the successes you've achieved, it's in the resilience, the dedication, and the unique perspective you bring. Back yourself. It's time to share a glimpse of the books I've been reading... I'm still on *Your Best Year Ever* by Michael Hyatt. It has been a slow read because every page offers so much insight, and I had to pause for exams. But now, we're back on track. Let's start with a quote that caught my attention: "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞." – 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 I stopped reading to absorb that thought... Nothing grows?? The comfort zone isn't just providing comfort... it's robbing you. Robbing you of the impact you could be making. Robbing you of the development and achievements you could have attained. Robbing you of the life you want to live. The comfort zone is like that toxic partner who treats you like a prince or princess until you criticize something they're doing wrong. Then they lash out at you, making you instantly regret your actions. The comfort zone enjoys your company, and any attempt to leave is met with great resistance. Some have tried leaving but returned after facing a few obstacles. Others have left and never looked back. 𝐌𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐜. Someone had to break the news. Now, people often misinterpret the comfort zone. They think it only applies to those who are doing fairly well but need to push themselves further. The comfort zone is a space where you know what to expect, and you can avoid risks or challenges. It refers to a state or place where a person feels safe, at ease, and in control—without experiencing stress or anxiety. Take it or leave it, but the comfort zone isn't where you exhaust your full potential or capacity. This reflection was just based on the first quote 😭. (Now you see why I'm not done with the book yet—it has a way of unleashing a stream of amazing thoughts.) Catch you in the next post, my friends! And I'll leave you with the title of that chapter... What do you prefer, being THE Best version?, or being YOUR best version?. Trying to be the best, puts you on the trap of perfection, you'll never reach it, and will put your value outside, building frustration and reckless behavior at a cost... Being your best, doesn't mean you're complacent or lazy; means being kind to yourself, value yourself, your capabilities and talents, and taking risks and challenges at your pace!. Found this really interesting short of an interview made to Marlon Brando, reflecting on why it's better to be your best version, with some poignant takes on society. Enjoy!

In 2024, whether you’re planning or visualizing or manifesting; Or you’ve resolved to skip making resolutions. Regardless of the bandwagon you’re on.  What’s important is that you have some plan for yourself. I am here to remind you that behind all your goals, plans, and actions,  And the systems and habits you’ll build to achieve them,  There is a very real person and that’s YOU. And… this YOU is not an island or an automaton.  Therefore, everything you are a part of and are surrounded by  will determine how you feel exactly around this time next year. So here’s an idea: Bring the human factor into your plans and see your vision soar.  Do this internal review, if you do nothing more: Don’t just stop at what you did well and did not.  Go beyond, and just to begin with, really ask yourself, - In life and at work, who inspired me the most this year?  - In whose company do I feel most energized?  - Whose encouragement/advice/guidance/support made a real difference in my actions and outcomes?  - Whom do I want to support or encourage in their work and why?  - In whom do I see the potential for a gainful partnership or collaboration and why? List out those specific people and your purpose of connecting with them. List out also what qualities you bring to the table. - What are the qualities in my colleagues, peers, and rivals that I want to emulate or develop?  - Who are the people I am most thankful for in my life today and going forward? Finally, how can I bring them some cheer? The only way to diminish the negatives in your life is to crowd them out with the positives. Happy new year!
