BarCamp is not your typical conference. It’s an open, participatory workshop where YOU set the agenda. Attendees are encouraged to share their knowledge, ideas, and experiences in a relaxed, collaborative environment. There are no spectators at BarCamp – only participants! This year's focus is on building a robust small business and startup ecosystem in Central and West Central Minnesota. We're building a regional community where ideas flourish and founders and friends can connect, learn, and grow. Why Attend? Connect with Local Innovators: Meet like-minded individuals who share your passion for business and innovation. Expand your network with other small business owners, startups, and professionals in Central MN. Learn and Share: With sessions ranging from startup funding to digital marketing, you'll find a wealth of knowledge ready to be shared. And if you have a topic you're passionate about, sign up to lead a session! Spark New Ideas: The unstructured format of BarCamp encourages creative thinking and collaboration. Engage in spontaneous discussions that could ignite the next big idea for your business. Be Part of the Community: Central MN is bustling with entrepreneurial spirit. This is your chance to contribute to and benefit from a growing ecosystem that's dedicated to supporting small businesses and startups. Registration is not required, but help us know who’s coming prior to the event https://hubs.la/Q02FCVzq0 #fastlane94barcamp #barcamp #roundhousebrewery

I started my first business in college as a solo founder Honestly, it was tough working alone Then again, you can do that when you have nothing to lose but time .. (and money for pints) But, I wouldn’t recommend it again The best thing you can do as a solo founder is find a co-founder But it’s sort of difficult to know how! The best thing you can do is surround yourself with really SMART people Because the Irish startup ecosystem is so small, it's actually quite simple to do that!! Here's how: 🗝️ Join a co working space (like Republic of Work, Dogpatch Labs, PorterShed or RDI Hub) 🚀 Attend startup events/programs (we do some here at the NDRC) 👋🏻 Attend meetups (hit up Niall Maher for developers or James Flynn for marketing) 💡 Seek out recommendations from other startup mentors (Gemma Marshall, Joe Gorman, André Balico, Gearoid Kearney and Dushyant Singh) Learn how to find your co-founder in this weeks IdeaHub newsletter Link in comments

The three things I learned from attending two Wellington Startup Collective events: 1. Although there is a lot of pressure to have a cofounder, I don't want or need one. I am highly driven and capable, and with the support of mentors and my team, I have all PAM - Personal Admin Manager needs to succeed. And I may change my mind later if the right person come along. 2. MLP (Minimum Lovable Product) is a better/clearer goal than MVP for me. I struggled with where the line was for MVP features for weeks; I didn't want to give families something that was just viable. The second I heard of MLP, it became clear what PAM needed and didn't need for her first release. Families needed to love her and the impact she made on their lives. 3. There are experienced founders out there willing to share their time, knowledge, and connections to help the next rank of startups coming through (genuinely nice humans). Everyone is super welcoming, and the support you receive is not only practical but also wraps around you like an emotional support blanket 💜 I wouldn't miss one. One of the best investments I've made in PAM this year! PAM MLP is teasingly close – jump on the waitlist now as we will only be opening up memberships to 50, then 200 families initially. https://mypam.nz/
Many start-up founders suffer from too much advice, but it can be helpful to check your thinking with the rare people who have been there before. Our 4th Wellington Startup Collective event is on the 4th of July at 4:30pm. No advice, just people who will take the time to step into your shoes, share relevant stories and ask smart questions. We carefully curate the attendees so you'll need to register first at https://lu.ma/pfsuk4k0 P.S. I'm listening to Semisonic. It's been a long time. So good. cc Jimmy McGee, Serge van Dam, Brent (Spice) Spicer

I help entrepreneurs execute startup ideas from scratch by developing & launching Minimum Viable Products
Every time I work on a pitch deck, I make sure it answers all these questions (see carousel) But there's more to it: Working on a pitch deck is SO USEFUL because you get to think about questions that you don't usually ask yourself or may not consider at all if it wasn't for the pitch deck. Constructing a great pitch deck is almost like writing an exciting story about your business. Doing so really helps refresh the big picture and may reveal some gaps that actually stop you from growing. P.S. I've already shared that (and more useful stuff) in our "100M$ Idea Incubator🚀" community. If you're an enthusiast looking for an environment to help you build a startup, DM me to invite you.
