Don’t let doubt define you. 💡🧠 A year ago I was questioning whether I would be able to leg press two plates (180lbs). Now I’m pressing 340+ lbs.  I’m not here to just share my strength training wins,  I’m here to make the connection to how this relates to business and leadership. You have to believe you and your organization are capable of being successful, even if in the present moment it feels challenging. Also, a growth mindset has to be followed by actions that fuel growth. What might that look like? 🤏🏼 Consistently complete the small tasks without a reminder. In other words, stay on top of the “admin” stuff (e.g., keeping your pipeline up to date). ❓Ask uncomfortable questions that might result in an answer you don’t want to hear (e.g., “Do you plan to renew with us? If not, why?”) 🌱 Own where you can improve and ask for help from your manager, team, or cross-functional partners (e.g., “I tried to handle an objection X way and it fell flat. What could I do better?”) Focus on your approach, let the outcomes speak for themselves. Most importantly, keep showing up. #Leadership #GrowthMindset

Your strength and mindset as a leader comes just as much from what you choose to do outside of the office as you do inside. Over the past two years I’ve developed a passion for finding the parallels between strength training and my performance as a leader at work. My goal is to begin to share some of these lessons. Let’s start with dropping the need for instant gratification. Whether you’re looking to build muscle, lose weight, get a promotion, build and sell a business, or become an expert on a topic or skill...things worth achieving take time. Years. Not months, weeks, days, or minutes. Results are not always guaranteed, but you increase the likelihood from learning to enjoy the process and taking action, even when motivation is low or it feels scary. At a minimum you achieve personal growth is an outcome in and of itself. 💪 🏢 #Leadership #GrowthMindset

Control the controllables. It is easier said than done. However, if you’re looking to improve or regain focus on areas which you have the most influence on, these are some places to start (and apply at organizational, departmental, and individual levels). 👇🏼 🧠 Attitude - It is a choice. We get to choose our mindset and how we respond to what is happening around us. 📝 Preparation - How we show up is a choice. We choose whether we want to learn, develop our skills, and get organized for any situation that arises. 🏃♀️ Execution - How and what we execute on is a choice. What we prioritize, the quality at which it is produced is a choice , and the urgency with which it is executed is a choice (sometimes the results are not). The key word here is ✨ choice. ✨ If you’re in autopilot mode, sometimes it is easy to forget how much choice you truly have in your day-to-day actions. This is your reminder that you can take the power to choose back and improve regardless of the environment around you.  #disipline #attitude #preparation #execution #growthmindset

Today I was the recipient of an unexpected "pay it forward moment." A nice man gave me his free coffee reward after filling his punch card before me at Ready Coffee in Poughkeepsie. It does not take a lot of effort to bring a smile to someone's day. Now I am inspired to do the same for someone else. We can choose to create a positive ripple effect by taking action in small ways. ☕ ✨

Where in your life are you stuck in a state of analysis paralysis and just need to take action? A common barrier to prioritizing ourselves is “not having enough time.” Taking action on our goals does not mean going from 0 to 100 mph over night. It is about learning how to integrate the correct mindsets, behaviors, and actions into our lives to create sustainable progress. How might you consider approaching this? 1. Establish a current baseline assessment of your priorities and time management. 👉 Be honest with yourself. 2. Determine how you might be able to reprioritize or restructure your time. 👉 You might need to make some tough decisions. 3. Experiment with inserting new actions into your life in small ways. 👉 You probably need to start smaller than you think. Most importantly, have grace with yourself. Choose to improve in areas of your life where your “why” for change is meaningful. Making 1% improvement per day or week is better than none at all. #Growth #Change #Improvement

Do you know what comes with a guaranteed ROI? Working on yourself – physically, mentally, and emotionally. I’ve spent the last two years doing personal training with an incredible coach. The results have been more than physical. Below are things I’ve learned from investing in myself in this way: 🧠 Movement is for your mind. I’ve experienced just as much growth “between the ears” as I have physically. My confidence is 📈. 🤏 Small wins add up. If you had told me I would be able to leg press 360 lbs for 6 reps when I first started, I would have laughed. Now I can. You don’t get strength, you build it. 💯 Don’t do it alone. Having a coach to teach and challenge me has increased my levels of success. He sees what I am capable of before I do. 💻 Prioritizing yourself improves work. Every day I see how the mindset and resilience I’ve developed strength training impacts my work and approach to leadership. We’ve all heard these lessons before, but sometimes in reality they can be hard to practice if you’re not in a rhythm. Just remember, 👉 you have the power to choose to restart. 👈 You deserve to put yourself first in some way, shape, or form.
