"According to a recent report from the Boston Consulting Group, 77% of youth in South Carolina with a major depressive episode do not receive any mental health treatment. This is well above the national average of 60%. In 2021, leading organizations declared a National State of Emergency in children’s mental health. Additionally, in 2022, the mental health counselor-to-student ratio 2022 was 1:1,300 in South Carolina. Charleston Hope’s journey began in 2011 when executive director Emily Kerr brainstormed from her kitchen table how she could help enact real change. We need your support this May to empower children's mental health with EQJOY! Did you know that half of all lifetime mental health issues begin by age 14? One in six children aged 2-8 are already facing mental, behavioral, or developmental disorders. In response, EQJOY is dedicated to combating these challenges by developing emotional intelligence in children through engaging play. This May, during Mental Health Month, our goal is to raise $10,000 to distribute the EQJOY card game to children in need. EQJOY is a research-based card game that has been developed to give children the EQ skills to cope and thrive in the fast-transforming, challenging world in which we live. "One of the biggest benefits of the game is that it will give children a working vocabulary to use to talk about and process these emotions when they actually arise," notes a participating teacher and author. Thanks to our partners, including Bring Hope Humanitarian Foundation, Boys Town, Girls on the Run of Los Angeles County, and Wings for Kids, we are spreading this impactful tool further. Your contribution can make a real difference. Every donation counts, no matter the size. Please visit www.eqjoy.org/donate to help us reach our $10,000 goal and bring vital emotional learning to more children!

🎉✨ Today is Giving Day at batyr! ✨🐘 Too many young people are struggling with their mental health—but they don’t have to face it alone. At batyr, we’re creating spaces for honest conversations, breaking down stigma, and empowering young people with tools to look after their mental health. For the next 24 hours, every donation will be TRIPLED! 💙 With your support, we can expand our programs to reach even more young Australians, helping them find hope and connection before reaching crisis point. Together, we can hit our goal of $200,000 and make a real difference in the lives of young people. 👉 Triple your impact today:https://lnkd.in/ebXVnFY6 Going through the Being Herd workshop in 2017 transformed the way I view my mental health journey, it gave me the skills and language to talk about mental health with kindness, confidence and the expertise required. It kickstarted a journey that led me to pursue public health and eventually brought me back to work at the organisation. I now proudly work at an organisation that empowers and equips young people with mental health literacy skills and champions lived experience. If that is just MY experience, imagine just HOW FAR your donation can go to impact young people's mental health and life trajectory. A $30 donation will allow 1 student access to a batyr@school program. That 1 student may walk out knowing that they are not alone, that their mental health matters and they'd learn important skills to support their own wellbeing and that of their loved ones. You are part of creating a world where no young person has to face mental health challenges alone. #YouthMentalHealth #GivingDay #MakeADifference #livedexperience

Research shows that people with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other types of neurodivergence are more likely to experience mental health difficulties than the general population. That includes depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, substance misuse, and feeling like ending their life. Neurodivergent children are often aware they are 'different' to most of their peers from a young age. Difficulties with academic skills like concentration, reading, and maths can contribute to anxiety at school and low self-esteem. Unusual social behaviours can leave children socially excluded or even bullied. Demand outstrips supply for neurodevelopmental assessments, and there is very little funding within the health or social care system to support neurodivergent children or adults. Families can be left for years battling to get a diagnosis, or an EHCP, all the while their child is unable to access an education. This takes its toll on the mental health of the whole family. And the impact on mental health continues throughout the lifespan. Neurodivergent children become neurodivergent adults, and the transition from child to adult services can be tough. There is even less support available for adults than children. Adults diagnosed later in life may also have additional mental health difficulties from never quite knowing why they didn't 'fit in' or why they weren't the same as everyone else. They always felt that there was something 'wrong' with them, and never knew why. Neurodivergent people and their families can often end up socially isolated, feeling that they are struggling alone, and that there is no help out there for them. You can help us to help neurodivergent people in Kent. Donate now to help us run our first peer support groups and play sessions. These aim to bring people together to share their experience, and support their mental health. With enough donations, our fledging organisation can begin to make a difference through: -peer support groups for adults with autism and ADHD -peer support groups for parents -play sessions for SEN/neurodivergent children -emotional support -information sessions Even £1 can help. Thank you. Please be aware that The ND Harbour is an unregistered charity. We have applied for registered charity status. https://lnkd.in/eKE3BvJf

As the Assistant Vice President for Student Health and Wellness at Stockton University, I understand how mental health challenges can negatively affect students’ academic success. With resources such as our Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) office and Uwill, free teletherapy appointments, we can provide comprehensive mental health services to our students. With an increase in demand for these services, I understand the importance of meeting this demand by enhancing our existing mental health resources. There are two ways to enhance our mental health resources for our students: * Telehealth pods to offer privacy for students who need a quiet space for their external therapy appointments * Sleep pods to provide a clean, safe place for students to unplug and recharge. Sleep deprivation can pay a toll on students’ mental health, well-being and academic performance. Your donation will help us to purchase 4 pods (2 telehealth pods and 2 sleep pods) that will support our students.
