We say that using precoated steel for production of home appliances is more sustainable solution than post-painting, but why is it actually? It is due to coil coating process itself, which is the most efficient way of coating steel. It uses less intensive pre-treatment, and less paint and energy per square meter of painted material. Consequently, pre-painted steel has a lower environmental impact than post-painted steel in every aspect. The LCA study offered by ECCA (European Coil Coating Association) gives good insight into it.
