Beckers' Commitment to Sustainability: A Net Zero Future We are thrilled to announce that Beckers has become the first coil coatings company to commit to net-zero emissions by 2050, aligning with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). We have already made significant progress by reducing our absolute CO2e emissions in our own operations (scope 1 and 2) by 51% between 2013 and 2023. But we know that true success requires collective action. More than 98% of our emissions result from our customers and suppliers (scope 3), which is why we must collaborate with our entire value chain. Join us in celebrating this milestone and stay tuned for more updates as we continue to transition into a business with a lower climate impact and transform how we collaborate with value chain partners. I'm happy to share that Beckers Group has officially joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)! This is a huge step for us, showing our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of not just our operations, but also helping our customers and suppliers do the same. The fact that 98% of our emissions are in scope 3 (raw materials we buy, and the operations of our customers and suppliers) makes this commitment essential for collaborating all along the value chain! What is SBTi? The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science. It is focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.

Purchasing organizations have the potential to incentivize significant environmental changes through engagement with their suppliers. To achieve truly meaningful reductions in environmental impact, companies need to cascade action throughout the supply chain. CDP evaluates organizations engagement with their suppliers on climate change. We’re delighted that we have earned a place as a leading company at CDP’s 2023 Supplier Engagement Leaderboard for taking action to measure and reduce climate risk in our supply chain. Schaeffler received an A which is in the Leadership band. ▶️ Learn more in our new sustainability report: https://bit.ly/3x1YK8B #GreenMakesTheDifference #CDP #SupplierEngagementLeader

Bringing Marketing, Go To Market and Sustainability Strategies in Sync for impact - Business and Sustainability Catalyst
Leadership for a Sustainable Future requires Collaboration, Connection, Creativity and Courage … Engaging around the New CISL ‘Sustainability Leadership” model crafted by Zoë Arden and Gillian Secrett was core to the 3d Business & Society Symposium organized by UCB ( Veronique Toully) and the Solvay Brussels School ( Bruno van Pottelsberghe and Estelle Cantillon.) My take aways: - It all starts with Purpose… sustainability must be embedded at its core to enable maximum impact - Collaboration and Connectiveness beyond corporate boundaries are critical for systemic progress - Sustainability consultants, lecturers and multi stakeholders forums play an important role to help disseminate best practices and build connections - Humility, creativity, and courage go hand in hand in navigating sustainability challenges. Embracing humility to seek knowledge, creativity to develop innovative solutions and courage to deal with ambiguity and make tough decisions (eg Profit vs People and Planet arbitrage). As Paul Van Oyen said, Strategy is the easier part in Sustainability – toughest challenge is to make it happen. Also, the debate about providing a voice for Nature in Boards and enhancing Board's connection with the environment was thought-provoking. Finally, we had rich discussions about leadership challenges from selected organizations on their sustainable transformation journeys. Participating in discussions with 'Life Be Free' , the cross-sector partnerships to reduce barriers to energy renovations for carbon neutrality was rewarding. Grateful for the insightful and open dialogue among participants.
