A lot of people know Build Club as an AI accelerator and as a community to learn how to build using AI. It is both of those things! But fewer people know that Build Club is has launched a two-sided bounty marketplace for AI work. Small businesses or professionals who require a custom AI solution can specify what they require, and post the project as a bounty on Build Club. The platform allows builders to apply for bounties by pitching how they would approach the problem. Customers are then matched with a Builder, who will chat with you to better understand your needs, and then build to specifications. Encour was one of Build Club's first bounty marketplace users! I wanted to build a custom tool that could take a media pack and create variants of press releases for different publications. This would mean every publication could receive a press release emphasizing a different key message, with different quotes, and a different photo - all tailored to the readership of the publication in question. Build Club matched me with Ethan Trang - a very capable builder who was a pleasure to work with. It's rare to see community building be the x-factor that animates a startup success story, but I'm a big believer that what Annie Liao 🇦🇺 has built is the right initial conditions for a bounty marketplace for AI work. The community becomes the 'supply side' of AI builders - and also supports builders to troubleshoot any challenges they come across. Despite only being founded in 2022 with around 20 team members and having no revenue or products for sale yet, Magic has attracted significant investor interest. Magic aims to use the funds to improve its AI models for handling larger amounts of data efficiently.
