How do you cover Black stories responsibly? Honored to be in this important piece out of NBCU Academy about the power of #Blacktwitter and best practices for covering Black stories. As a politico + publicist, I've seen first-hand the damage done when our convos and causes get commercialized and then weaponized against us. Trust, there are few things more frustrating that being in a focus group and then hearing people quote soundbites of bad info. I am convinced half our “culture wars” wouldn’t exist if we did things better on the front end. Press are an important piece of the puzzle. There’s a responsibility that comes with what you choose to focus on, who you talk to, and how you tell the story. Do they slowdown the algorithm and interfere with the speed of your scrolling every time that you are on LinkedIn? Just wondering, because, it seems like someone has been assigned to disturb my ability to write even by tampering with my keypad on my cell phone as I type. Why must we be treated with such contempt, disdain, and disrespect when all we want to do is tell the truth? I even went and purchased a new iPhone and added malwarebytes and the Apple store employees can’t even figure it out. So, is #TheStolenImage story so embarrassing to the government that they don’t want me telling the truth about it even after I’ve tagged the appropriate agencies to deal with this situation hundreds of times? Is it annoying that to them that all Black People want and deserve is true justice? A film that wants to be science-fiction. So, learn the lessons that emerge from it.   1-   Let black doctors or scientists get into a hospital “laboratory” and the most unimaginable horrors will take place. 2-   Let black people be fully treated in a hospital and they will become guinea pigs, especially in the hands of black doctors. 3-   Let a mother treat her son and the worst possible crime will take place under your own nose and in front of your own eyes. 4-   Shall I go on?   If this is not pure racism laced with some sexism, I just wonder what would qualify. How can anyone imagine such man-made scientific schizophrenia to be possible in the hands and under the scalpel of a doctor, a scientist? I guess it is urgent to have clear regulations and controls on such activities. Because be sure that wild clandestine medical experiments are happening every day in the world.
