Our programs have reduced these risks for more than 15,000 young adults facing cancer. Well, Cactus Cancer Society has a critical update for you! Our Art Workshops are filling up faster than ever, sometimes within minutes. We have a growing waitlist of young adults who are being turned away from the programs they want to join. We know you agree – placing young adults facing the darkest, loneliest days of their lives on the waitlist simply isn’t good enough. We are urgently seeking help funding additional Art Workshops. Before the close of our fiscal year at midnight on June 30th, we need to reach our $8,250 goal. It’s no small ask, but we need to provide 165 additional spaces to meet the increased demand for our Art Workshops in support of young adults as they navigate cancer. In 2022, we lost my father-in-law after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Macmillan, throughout this time, provided information on the cancer and treatments, explaining what to expect. They provided advice on areas ranging from diet to finances. But most importantly, they provided support for my father-in-law and my family. We would have been lost without them. With this in mind, I want to do my part in helping to keep these services available. Therefore, in memory of my father-in-law, I am taking on two fundraising challenges. My 1st challenge: Between 1st – 30th June, 309 CEVA colleagues, along with their friends and families, will be taking part in CEVA UKIN’s biggest-ever community fundraising initiative, #theCEVA100. Each person participating will be required to complete 100km through any chosen fitness activity they wish. As part of this challenge, I am raising money for people living with cancer whom Macmillan supports. My 2nd challenge: In July 2024, I am taking on a 26-mile Mighty Hike in the stunning Gower Peninsula to raise money for people living with cancer. I have pledged to raise £250 and would appreciate any support in reaching this goal. By raising my pledge, I could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical, and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
