You don’t have to be perfect. But you do have to be separate. In 1 Timothy 3, Paul describes the character traits necessary for church leadership, but our leadership isn't limited to a specific building. We lead everywhere we go. Christian leadership is less about titles and more about godly character. Leaders live in such a way that accusations of hypocrisy or sin can not discredit them, or the church where they worship. The requirement is not perfection. Separation. Be as far a way from foolishness as humanly possible, So that the Name of Christ is not stained. Christian leaders model integrity in their families and with their friends, demonstrating love, discipline, and faithfulness everywhere they go without having an official title like pastor, elder, deacon, evangelist, prophet,... Christian leaders serve. We're humble, not prideful. We're faithful to our spouses. We're respectable and hospitable. We're self-controlled and sober-minded. We're nonviolent and nonargumentative. We manage our households well. We don't love money. We love Jesus. We can teach. So, whether you’re leading a congregation, a small group, or your family Remember this: Lead with the Love of Christ. “Christ was revealed in a human body     and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels     and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world     and taken to heaven in glory.” (1 Timothy 3:16 NLT). You don’t have to be perfect.
