✨ Customer Highlight: Dr. Dedalus Hyde & Pacific Neurofeedback from Kentfield, CA ✨ This month, we’re thrilled to feature Dr. Dedalus Hyde, MA, Psy.D., and Pacific Neurofeedback! With over 40 years of experience in mental health, Dr. Hyde specializes in trauma, depression, anxiety, and family therapy. After training with Mitch and Angelika Sadar of Sadar Psychological Services in 2022, he began offering neurofeedback, inspired by its powerful impact on trauma treatment. Since opening in June 2023, Pacific Neurofeedback has grown to two treatment rooms and has already served 48 clients! Their specialties include High-Frequency training, Infra-Low Frequency (ILF), Alpha-Theta neurofeedback, and qEEG assessments, all in collaboration with Shari Johansson. Clients have experienced incredible transformations, reporting: 💬 "For the first time in a while, I don’t feel the deep unease and pain/self-hate like I had been." 💬 "I wake up feeling at peace for the first time in my life." 💬 “On Wednesday, I was in the best mood I've been in in years. There was a road raging dingus on my way home from work and I just laughed & it didn’t phase me whatsoever (where normally I would have engaged and gotten very mad).” Dr. Hyde is also a big fan of BEE Medic products, saying, "The equipment performed beautifully and was easy to set up. While we had a few technical issues, Zeke was extremely responsive and helped resolve them quickly. Overall, we’re very pleased with BEE Medic’s products and support.” We're honored to be part of their journey in transforming lives through neurofeedback! #Neurofeedback #MentalHealth #TraumaTherapy #BrainHealth #HealingJourney #PacificNeurofeedback #ClinicalPsychology #ClientSuccess #MentalHealthMatters #TherapyTools #Neurotherapy #WellnessJourney #BeeMedic #InnovativeTherapies

✨ Completed the 5 series of Masterclass in Refining Skills in Therapy Practice! Big shoutout to my colleagues and friends who joined me on this journey—they've been rockstars from start to finish - Joanna Joseph Ishita Akula Chinmayi Krishnaiah Sanjina Bose ✨ We covered a range of topics - revisiting therapeutic dialogues, methods of psychoeducating, empathy building, fostering behavioural change and termination of sessions. I'm itching to hear what everyone thought and how we can make things even better next time. BTS: Yeah, I was a bundle of nerves before we kicked things off. And let's just say, sleep was hard to come by the night before! Plus, I lost count of how many times I had to restructure my own negative thoughts. The recording mishap on the second day had me on edge (to put it mildly), but huge shoutout to the amazing folks at topmate.io for their prompt assistance in resolving the technical glitches. They were incredibly patient with my persistent inquiries (maybe a tad overbearing, but they handled it like champs!). ~~~~ Received a lot of messages about missing out on registering for the Masterclass series. Looking forward to this discussion event tomorrow, Wednesday 5/22/24, at 4PM PST on the subject of “What it means (to us-in this moment) to be existential and humanistic therapists in 2024.” Please click on the link, register, and you will receive via e-mail a link to join. I learn much from these elevated talks, and meet interesting folks. I don’t approach any of the online events I engage as some kind of “expert.” I’m a human who has suffered and loved and values connecting, creating, learning, being of service in my work as a therapist and when I can outside of that also. I read in and train in these approaches as deeply as I can muster, and have committed to longterm work in these areas :-) I think all the panelists likely agree that these approaches are ways of being in the world as well as therapeutic approaches. We do not within a few years of training graduate and become them, really. It’s a moment to moment reaffirming with many apparent steps backward and to the side—part of the process. And yet, I am heartened by knowing elders in the space who seem to have more of a permanent center of gravity within the groundlessness, if that makes sense. And yet, for me, part of all of that is the current times we live, love, play, flounder, persevere, fumble, create, relate, isolate, connect, and die in. How are these approaches operating for us in these current times? I’ve found many folks working in the “mental health” field are drawn to these approaches/ways of being. Scare quotes because I’m not sure how healthy our field always is overall, as I’m sure many of you agree. And yet, most master level grad programs might assign a chapter on Rogers and maybe one book by Yalom and that’s it. Often these texts make strong impressions on folks, maybe even strike them as core to what therapy should be somehow, as somehow familiar and close to the core of being human, and they would like to return to the ideas formally but never really find the time. This discussion will likely give you ideas on how to pursue these approaches/ways of being further—as all of the panelists are doing just that. The panelists: Jennifer O'Neill, Tracy Sisk, MA, Sophie Ducrocq Archibald, PhD, Tyler W. Gamlen, MS, Joshua Anthony Diliberto, and myself. Some of the elders I refer to in this post: Kirk Schneider, Drake Spaeth, PsyD , Louis Hoffman , Gina Belton PhD , Ed Mendelowitz, Ph.D., Diana Rivera, MA, PCC, Ph.D., Dr Betz King, Selene Kumin Vega, PhD Saybrook University, Ryan Drzewiecki, PsyD, LP, Tim Palus, Alexander Danvers you might find this interesting! #psychology #human #connection #existence #existential
Consider joining Sophie Ducrocq Archibald, PhD, Jennifer O'Neill, Tracy Sisk, MA, Tyler W. Gamlen, MS, Joshua Anthony Diliberto, and myself for a live discussion event on what it means (to us--in this moment) to be existential and humanistic psychotherapists in 2024. We will likely explore generalized themes we see working with ourselves and clients in session and how the existential and humanistic approaches to therapy hold and illuminate these themes and help us to work with folks. To attend the event, please register below. You will receive a link. The event will be video recorded and posted on social media. When: Wednesday, 5/22/24, 4PM-5:30PM PST. I've found these discussion events to be great ways to elevate my thinking, deepen my professional connections, and meet inspiring folks from around the globe concerned with similar ideas and experiences. Meerly not having a difficult experience does not meet the experience will be well integrated and benefits sustained Journalling and time in nature are helpful tools, but quite generic and non-specific to the individual. Journaling can also keep people in their heads and out of their bodies Dissociative symptoms like depersonalisation and derealisation post-journey can be more common than people think. I hear facilitators speak to their track record of not having any adverse events, yet their participants are quietly reaching out for support People can have a sense of urgency when trauma memories arise and may not recognise how the psyche can speak to us in metaphors If you are interested in learning more about the fundamentals on psychedelic integration to harness the benefits and work with adverse acute and long term effects, the next cohort of The Elements of Psychedelic Integration will be starting May 20 Register here: https://lnkd.in/gPkHFAPF

It was my first Pro-bono therapy session yesterday. My supervisor told me that it was as important for me as it was for the client. An hour ago, I started having butterfly feelings in my stomach. Even though it was online, I still set the virtual space for the session. I read through all my basics, made a framework of the session, I also looked for any possible technical glitch that could happen in between. As the time drew near, I found myself consumed with the thoughts of whether I had read enough, rehearsing the beginning of the session in my mind again and again. Finally the time arrived, and I settled in front of my laptop, completely ready for the session. However, the client failed to show up. He neither took my calls nor saw my texts. It was undoubtedly disheartening. I felt some mix of emotions. You've put so much effort into preparing, and then the client doesn't even show. How do you deal with the emotions that come up when a client doesn't show? But then, amidst the disappointment, I remembered the words of my supervisor, who reminded me that every effort, every moment spent in preparation, is valuable not just for the client but also for my own growth and learning. #therapy #onlinetherapy #psychology #traineepsychologists #psychologists

Testimonial: “Thank you so much for an excellent 2 days, learning about hypnosis and pain. I thoroughly enjoyed the way you delivered the course but especially realizing that someone else shared my passion for working with people with pain! I also found the discussion around preparing patients for surgery particularly helpful and interesting as I have recently started doing this and would like to work further in the area. I thoroughly enjoyed this 2-day course and would 100% recommend it. The style was engaging, supportive and encouraging, which helped you feel confident that you could start to apply these techniques back in clinic straightaway. Dr Bruce was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic in his teaching. There was a good balance between theory and practice. Dr Bruce discussed the theory, demonstrated and then we practiced and discussed how we found the techniques, with Dr Bruce and everyone contributing. As the course was Zoom based online, it was great to connect with like-minded people across the globe. Already looking forward to his future courses.” Dr Sue Peacock CPsychol, AFBPsS, Consultant Health Psychologist, Registered /Practitioner Health Psychologist (HCPC), Chartered with The British Psychological Society 👉🏻 📅 Register for August 12 -13/2024 Fundamentals of Pain Control Hypnosis workshop at the National Guild of Hypnotists 2024 annual meeting. 📣👉🏻 Register Now: https://lnkd.in/eA7ai2Ga #DrEimer #hypnosis #pain #anxiety #hypnotherapy #practitionertraining #healthcare #CE #hypnosistraining #workshop #mindset #psychology #inperson #selfhypnosis #continuingeducation #education #naturalpaincontrol #professionaldevelopment #course #NGH
