Safety We all talk about the safety of different kinds. Road, safety, kitchen safety, fire safety, women safety, children safety....But above all there's one safety that we often don't talk about, which is the foundation of safety of all kinds. Be it any sort of relationship, husband wife, parent child, siblings, friends, colleagues boss employee, teacher student, or our approach towards any stranger, if it lacks respect, care, concern, acceptance, honor, it will still be a relationship without any emotional care and safety. Being accepted and embraced for who you truly are and what you feel and need is a feeling, an emotional safety that you convey to the person around that no matter what you will respect the boundaries and will not judge for the weaknesses that you hold.. This feeling of safety is the building block for all the healthy human relations. And who knows your gesture and genuine care can make a great difference in the lives of those who feel emotionally unsafe and experience great distress and isolation. AND THEN ONWARDS WE WON'T HESITATE TO SPEAK OUR HEARTS OUT, OUR WEAKNESSES, OUR INSECURITIES TO THE ONES WE FEEL EMOTIONALLY SAFE AROUND #bekindtoothers

In our busy lives, we are often faced with time-management choices. When given the chance, we must always choose safety over time savings, because rushing causes us to lose focus, skip steps, and make bad decisions. In fact, the time we spend #stayingsafe is time well spent. 👷🏽 When rushing, we can easily lose focus, leading to line of fire-type injuries. 👷🏼♀️ Being in a hurry is not a legitimate cause of an incident, but rather a symptom of poor planning and poor #timemanagement. 👷🏼♂️ Proper #jobplanning and staying organized can go a long way towards #preventinginjury. 👩🏾💻 Many workers make poor safety choices even when they are not in a hurry. Hello safety clan 🤗 In our last session of Club Safety Matters, we explored RESPECT as a value that is important to safety. We learned that safety isn’t just about staying out of harm’s way; it is about creating environments where we feel secure—physically, emotionally, and mentally. We can achieve this by ensuring that everyone around us is treated with care and consideration, and also by how we care for our immediate physical environment. We taught our "safety soldiers" that respect is not just about being polite; it's about recognizing boundaries, embracing differences, and understanding the importance of treating others with dignity. We also learnt how respect is a value that can help children build their safety consciousness. When children have respect for themselves, they learn to make healthy choices that will keep them safe. When they have respect for others, then they create safe spaces for anyone around them. Adhering to safety rules is also indicative of respect. Will your children be joining us in the next edition? Each life lost or altered by injury represents a world of shattered dreams and a reminder of the importance of prioritizing safety in every workplace. Their memory serves as a poignant call to action, underscoring the necessity of safeguarding the well-being of every individual. The significance of workplace safety cannot be overstated. It is our shared responsibility to ensure that everyone returns home safely at the end of the day. Through rigorous safety protocols, ongoing education, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety, we can prevent such tragedies and honour those we have lost by making meaningful changes. Let's use this day not only to mourn but to motivate. Participate in local ceremonies, observe a moment of silence, and support training and initiatives aimed at improving workplace safety. This Friday (31st May) is Fatality Free Friday! The Australian Road Safety Foundation (ARSF) Fatality Free Friday initiative is about much more than just a single day. 'It operates on the belief that if we can go one day without a death on the road, we can demonstrate the impact a focus on road safety can have every day of the year.' Unfortunately, our road trauma statistics are not improving with 1273 lives lost on our roads in 2023 (ARSF), and there's always more we can collectively do. For many businesses', driving is a well-known critical risk, and industry plays an important role not just within the confines of workplace safety, but across the community at large in which they operate. Similarly, the ubiquitous nature of our current working / personal life's is only increasing, and our health, safety & wellbeing is always best viewed holistically. Ultimately, we're all responsible, so let's advocate and sponsor any event which promotes road safety to the benefit of all. This week, we'll be doing so across our organisation. 🚸 My Toddler Taught me... 👟 small oversights can have big consequences!!! I often have humorous yet enlightening moments with my son. One of my favorites is when he eagerly puts on his shoes and inadvertently slips them onto the wrong feet! 😄 It made me reflect on how small oversights can have big consequences. In the same way, in our professional lives, even seemingly minor safety lapses can lead to significant risks. Whether it's in the workplace or at home, safety should always be a priority and preparedness in the event of an accident. Let's take a moment to ensure we're putting our best foot forward in safety practices and are prepared to respond.
