This was the first gathering between staff from all locations! 💛 From delicious food to fun games and team-building activities, it was the perfect opportunity to bond outside the office. Hey Y’all! Let’s get personal for a moment and join forces. 💪 I often think the perfect time for us to reflect on the profound impact of unity and how we can continue fostering a culture of togetherness within our team, is around holidays. But why are we not reflecting on a day-to-day basis? When each team member feels encouraged, togetherness blossoms. If you exist as a source of encouragement, offer helpful feedback, and promote open communication, you'll see this firsthand. Creating customs and themes inside the team strengthens the bond between members. These customs, which can include anything from a weekly team meeting to a monthly celebration of accomplishments or a shared lunch, foster continuity and solidarity that go beyond the daily responsibilities. They also help to ensure alignment. The sense of unity grows when every person feels appreciated and included. By embracing the strength of unity, we strengthen our resistance to impending problems and improve the culture at work.

Overdue picture from a recent onsite team meeting we had, coupled with three takeaways: 1. Find the time to get your team together in-person. The ideation and conversation that happens outside of a video call is invaluable. 2. It’s so important to set time aside for strategy. We all move so fast, and leveraging a talented team’s “group think” mentality gives you so many great ideas to improve current state. 3. Never, ever agree to a team building activity that you are terrible at. Who from New England prefers big ball bowling? Apparently, everyone but me.

Do people just want more 💲💲❓ If only it were that easy! Paying people what they're worth is absolutely the ground floor of company culture and health... But it's not everything. No amount of money will make people happy when they're doing work they hate, with people they don't like, for bosses they can't stand, and in an environment that sucks. It may motivate people to keep going, but doesn't fix the Sunday scaries. I don't think it's either/or. How about both/and? Culture is more than $$$ - respect and appreciation - freedom to operate - fair compensation - a vision they believe in - leaders and coworkers who live out shared values - clearly communicated goals and expectations - flexibility And definitely pizza 🍕😏 Funny thing too: what motivates someone varies from one person to the next. Some folks genuinely just want money. What about you? What's the biggest driver of your satisfaction at work?

He ends every team meeting or ‘motivational’ speech with it Something so minor, but it sticks with us – setting the tone for the rest of the day/week. Who you’re surrounded by every day in this industry is super important… It’s inevitable that if you’re part of a positive and high-achieving team, you too are going to become that This also applies on the contrary – if your team are low energy and fine with settling for lower standards, you will get sucked into that cycle.
