Building a Support System for Autism My journey with Reyansh, my son who was diagnosed with autism, has been filled with challenges and countless lessons learned from mistakes, eventually leading to victories, big and small. Each day, I've navigated obstacles, striving to figure out the next steps for his development and well-being. In those early days, I often felt overwhelmed and isolated, unsure of where to turn for guidance and support. I believe it's in our nature as a society to learn from each other and evolve, continually striving to do things better. But how can others learn and grow if we don't share our experiences? Our collective wisdom is powerful, but only if it's shared and made accessible. As parents of children with special needs, we often find ourselves fighting our own battles, struggling in silence, waiting for our share of accomplishments, which we too often celebrate alone. But does it have to be this way? Can we, as members of a progressive society, continue to fight our own battles without supporting others on the same journey? I believe we can't and shouldn't. We have a responsibility to each other and to our children to create learning, support, and understanding for everyone. I invite all parents and caregivers navigating similar paths to connect. Let's share our thoughts, experiences, and resources. Together, we can make a difference and create a better and more supportive environment for our children and also ourselves.
