The best way to learn and grow as an emotionally intelligent leader is to be introspective and ask yourself the tough questions. Start here with the five pillars of EQ to begin: Self-Awareness: What emotions am I feeling? Let me also add: - What do I see as my biggest strengths that others recognize? - How often am I asking for feedback on what I do well and how I cam improve? Empathy: What emotion is the other person experiencing? This is more the perspective taking piece of empathy. You might also ask yourself, how am I feeling in this interaction? Social Skill: What can I do to genuinely show up curious and interested in the person or people I'm communicating with? This takes a desire to understand motivating factors and to show up as your true self. I'd also add- how important are relationships to your happiness and success in the workplace? Thinking deep and asking yourself challenging questions is how we grow and it's how we boost emotional intelligence.
