In the world of mental health and personal development, therapy and life coaching are powerful tools that can bring about profound change. However, despite their benefits, there's a lot of misinformation and myths surrounding these practices. As a professional in the field, I want to help clear the air and debunk some of these common myths. Myth 1: Therapy and coaching are for 'weak' people One of the most pervasive myths is that seeking therapy or coaching is a sign of weakness. In reality, reaching out for support is a courageous decision. It shows a commitment to personal growth and well-being. Myth 2: Therapy is only for people with serious mental health issues While therapy is indeed crucial for individuals managing conditions like depression or anxiety, it's also beneficial for anyone seeking to improve their emotional well-being, process life changes, or gain deeper self-understanding. Everyone can benefit from the supportive, non-judgmental space that therapy provides. Myth 3: Coaching is like having someone tell you what to do Effective coaching is about partnership. I work with you to explore your thoughts, uncover your goals and develop strategies to achieve them. I empower you to discover your own solutions and take actionable steps towards the life you envision. Myth 4: You’ll be in therapy or coaching forever Many worry that starting therapy or coaching means committing to a lengthy process. In truth, the duration depends on your individual needs and goals. While some may benefit from ongoing support, others might achieve their objectives through a set number of sessions. Myth 5: Therapy and coaching are too expensive Cost is a common concern for those considering therapy or coaching. I offer a free initial consultation to discuss your needs and explore options that work for you. Myth 6: You can’t have both therapy and coaching Some people think they must choose between therapy and coaching, but they can complement each other effectively. Integrating both can provide a holistic approach to your well-being. Making the decision to seek therapy can be transformative and I want to support you. If you’re ready to take the next step, I offer a free consultation where we can explore your goals and how I can support you on your journey. #growthmindset #onlinetherapy #EmbraceYourPotential #healingjourney #psychotherapist #selfgrowth #changingmindset

Organizational Development & Executive Coach 🌿 EMCC Certified Coach & Mentor (EIA) 🌿 EMCC Certified Team Coach (ITCA) 🌿 Gallup Strengths Coach
🌿 When we see someone needing medical help, it's clear—we offer assistance or call for it. Not providing the first aid to someone in need can be even legally punishable. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁? 🌿 When do we draw the line between suggesting therapy or coaching? For us professionals, it can be tempting to diagnose or advise in-the-moment, but mental health needs are as diverse as people themselves. 🌿 People often ask me: “𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 [𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺, 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀] 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹?” 🌿 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. There’s a big difference between knowing how to help and recognizing when someone is ready to accept help. True transformation happens only when people acknowledge they need help and are willing to commit to change. Even the most profound coaching or counseling without that ownership and commitment to change won’t be effective. Here are a few articles that might help you answer questions like, "How do I know I need therapy [or coaching, or mentoring]?" ❇️ 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙛 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙚𝙭𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜? https://lnkd.in/eqacVaDs ❇️ 4 𝙎𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙨 𝙄𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙮 𝘽𝙚 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙏𝙤 𝙎𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙥 https://lnkd.in/ec_BRhhR ❇️ 𝙊𝙣𝙚-𝙩𝙤-𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙘𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 https://lnkd.in/ehY7CeVq #coaching #mentoring #counselling #therapy #executivecoaching #mentalhealth

Corporate Yoga Teacher | Self-Development Coach | Women's Wellness Facilitator | Bringing Wellness to the Workplace
Coaching vs. Therapy: Which Path is Right for You? As a Self-Love Coach, I often get asked about the difference between coaching and therapy. Both offer incredible tools for personal growth, but they cater to different aspects of your journey. 1️⃣Therapy focuses on healing. It helps you process past traumas, manage mental health issues, and navigate emotional challenges. A therapist will work with you to explore past experiences and understand how they impact your present life, especially if you are dealing with anxiety, depression, or unresolved grief. 2️⃣Coaching is more forward-looking. As a coach, I help you identify your goals, whether that’s building self-esteem, creating healthy habits, or achieving work-life balance. We work together to take actionable steps to move you toward the future you envision. Coaching is about empowerment, accountability, and creating the life you deserve. In summary: Therapy = Healing from the past 🌿 Coaching = Building the future 🌟 If you're looking for deeper emotional work, therapy is likely the path for you. But if you're ready to focus on self-love, set goals, and step into your best self, coaching might be exactly what you need. Remember, it's okay to choose both - your well-being ALWAYS comes first. #selflove #coachingvstherapy #mentalhealth #personalgrowth #selfcare #selfempowerment

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Chuffed to bits to a share our first 5-star Google review! What a corker! Justin Stone - Assoc CIPD works at one of our partner firms, Triple Point, & he recently shared his experience of our virtual 1:1 mental health coaching sessions. Our coaching approach at fifty50 is unique, blending high-performance coaching with a therapeutic touch. fifty50 coaches are psychologically trained and some are "dual practitioners”, meaning they are both therapists and coaches. Although we don't blend the two in session, we have an eye on your holistic wellbeing as we help you work through challenges, build healthy habits & boundaries, and equip you with the skills and tools to boost your mental fitness. We're so passionate about removing the stigma & helping people to own their mental health. So much in this space is reactive, and we’re all about preventative action to build mental fitness. It makes a massive difference to work, life and how you show up day to day! We’ve got LOADS of positive feedback, but haven’t cracked the Google reviews just yet, so if we’ve had the pleasure of coaching you or providing therapy, please do leave us a review on Google - it makes a difference ⭐️ ❓Have you got a positive experience to share about fifty50 - coaching, therapy, workshops, talks or traIning? Pop it in the comments - we’d love to hear. #mentalhealthintheworkplace #stigmafree #coaching

📍Passionate Trainer Specializing in Emotional Intelligence | Dedicated Coach Empowering Individuals and Teams | Certified Expert in Happiness at Work | Breathwork and Meditation Specialist | 🇫🇷 🇬🇧 🇩🇪 🇮🇹 🇱🇺
I am thrilled to share that I am now a certified Mental Health First Aider! 🧠💪 As coaches, we might encounter situations where clients face challenges that extend beyond the scope of coaching. It's essential to recognize that coaching is not therapy. While coaching focuses on assisting individuals achieve their goals and unlock their potential, therapy delves into resolving psychological issues. Here’s a brief distinction: 🔹 Coaching: Goal-oriented, focuses on personal and professional growth. 🔹 Therapy: Addresses mental health issues and emotional healing. 🔹 Mentoring: Involves guidance based on the mentor’s experience. 🔹 Consulting: Provides expert advice in specific areas. With this certification, I am empowered to identify when someone needs therapeutic support rather than coaching and to respond effectively in crisis situations. It’s about ensuring that everyone gets the right kind of support they need. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for my clients and recognizing when to refer them to a therapist when necessary. 💬 If you’re interested in learning more about the differences between coaching and therapy or need support, feel free to reach out! https://lnkd.in/eHrEjv7S #MentalHealth #Coaching #Therapy #MentalHealthFirstAid #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #WellBeing #Support

🤝 Director of Mindset | Business Psychologist | 🧠 Unlocking the potential of people and organisations with psychological insights
🎓 I had a great week last week. I finally started to feel better after a rotten cold and began the week meeting with Psychometrix Ltd We discussed our upcoming courses as we are currently looking at developing the certificate in educational testing (CCET) together. 🌎 I then had a few days working on behalf of Green Cross Global redeveloping our 5-week manager programme for a specific team that I will be supporting next month. 👩🏫 I also welcomed a couple of new coaching clients. I thoroughly enjoy doing 1-1 coaching sessions and definitely want to do more of this in the coming months. If anyone is interested in onboarding with me as a coaching client, please reach out for a free initial chat! 🐝 Following this, I had a great meeting reconnecting with the WASP UK team, to discuss our 2024 plans. We also have a new member of the team to welcome which was fabulous! 🗣 Finally, I finished Friday by meeting with the wonderful Cheryl A. Kelley PMP, PMI-ACP, NASENCO, DHMSA, MA, BA who is an amazing SENCO lead at a school. She answered a few questions I had and I want to give her a shout out to say how fabulous it was speaking with her. She really finished my week on a high!
