https://lnkd.in/gAk369m5 In Hydro, we want to be transparent about our sustainability performance. A lot of this relates to how we engage with our customers and other stakeholders directly, but it also defines our ambitions for transparency and quality in our external reporting. This year, we have spent a lot of time improving our sustainability disclosures, while also adapting to the forthcoming European Sustainability Reporting Standards #ESRS. While we still have a lot on our agenda to further improve reporting quality in 2024, I am proud to share our 2023 integrated annual report, which was published today. As far as I know, this report makes us among the first listed companies to present a sustainability statement that has been structured based on the ESRS! How we and other companies adapt to the new requirements will likely change in the coming years, as we all grapple with the complexity and scope of the new requirements. I hope our report provides useful information to all the users of our sustainability disclosures, and I also hope users of the report and other preparers of sustainability statements reach out to discuss corporate reporting with us, so that we can learn from each other.

"A provisioning system lens is a useful approach to understand the dynamics of resource use and how it contributes to key elements of human development. This report focuses on the resource-intensive provisioning systems of food, built environment, mobility and energy. It is essential to focus not only on measures on the supply (production) side of these systems but also on the demand (consumption) side. This should include strong operationalization of concepts such as justice and sufficiency" https://lnkd.in/dVDBUDsX

Chemistry Student at Meredith College | Interested in Wetland Mitigation, Agriculture, and Chemistry
I would like to go into the engineering field when I get out of school. This career field is continuing to grow with rising interest in environmental sustainability. However, the revenue of this field is decreasing because during COVID-19, money started being allocated more to the control of the outbreak and less to environmental sustainability. On another note, most environmental engineering firms diversify their specialty to increase their income, creating a competitive market. This means there is free entry and exit for any firm wanting to come in or leave the market. However, it may be hard to find a specialty not already covered by firms in the industry. #mereditheconomics https://lnkd.in/gjd8bkAn

Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol)'s Scope 3 Survey Draft Summary Report and Proposal Summary are now available! These materials build on the “Topline Findings from Corporate Standard & Scope 3 Surveys Feedback” webinar, providing a more comprehensive and detailed summary of responses.📋
GHG Protocol's Scope 3 Survey Draft Summary Report and Proposal Summary are now available. Between November 2022 and March 2023, GHG Protocol invited interested stakeholders to provide feedback via a survey on the Scope 3 Standard, and we received 354 survey responses and approximately 100 proposals. The Draft Summary Report and Proposal Summary provide a detailed overview of stakeholder feedback. To ensure that GHG Protocol is accurately representing feedback, GHG Protocol is holding a review period to invite comments only from individuals/organizations who completed the scope 3 survey or submitted a scope 3 proposal who believe their feedback was either not adequately included or misrepresented. Read the report and learn how you can provide feedback: https://bit.ly/3IA37dV

Resources for the future released a new report "Policy Incentives to Scale Carbon Dioxide Removal: Analysis and Recommendations". The report addresses the following issues: - How can policies create the incentives needed for private provision of CDR at a large scale over the long term? - If private sector investment in CDR remains limited by high cost or other constraints, what might the government do to scale up CDR? - What policies would improve CDR technologies and lower their cost over time? - How do CDR and GHG emissions reduction policies interact, and what are the implications for CDR policy design?
