“What would you do if your doctor told you they knew how to treat your cancer, but couldn't get the medicine to do so?” 😳 In the war against drug shortages, everyone who can, should play a role.  And among those players, is the clinical supply chain industry. The facts are: 1. Over 6,000 ongoing trials use one of the 14 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐝𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐬 listed as being in 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 by the FDA (as of June 6, 2024).  2. 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 in oncology chemotherapies and co-medications was estimated by our benchmarks to be 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 70% 𝐚𝐧𝐝 80% in clinical trials. 3. If that number were 40% instead, we would reduce by half the amount of oncology drugs used in clinical trials, potentially 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬. For over 20 years, N-SIDE has been advocating for waste reduction in the clinical supply chain. And making it happen successfully - it is our specialty.
