If you have a hiring problem and can’t seem to fill the seats, you really have a retention problem. 😥 The thing is: needing an employee is a today problem and hiring solves that today problem. Working on your company retention is about solving future problems. Understandably, that can make prioritizing retention a tough ask for a manager. However, continuing to fix the today problem and hoping that this new employee will be the one to stay tends to be a fool's errand. I was reading through the following article and noticed an interesting thing. Two senior executives and hundred more employees are on the layoff list. This is due to falling sales and artificial hiring agendas (AI, Electric car growth, acquisition etc) by paying more salary post COVID era. Globally, the next 3 quarters are going to be the toughest period for internal and external stakeholders. Every company has to go through the business cycle and start a fresh business cycle. Please save every penny and start thinking of exploring your inner core skill. Even if you are on the layoff list, the news may not hurt you so much as u would have thought this process much in advance.
