The first day of fall (September 22) is almost upon us! When you think about fall, one of the first things that comes to mind is seasonal drinks and hot coffee. Coffee drinking dates back to the 15th century in Ethiopia and Yemen. Humans started drinking coffee for a number of reasons, one of which is the energy provided by the caffeine in coffee. 🌟 Want to know the best way to handle your pH Sensor for longevity and accurate results? In this edition of TPS Tips, we're exploring essential aspects of caring for your valuable pH sensor. The pH sensor is the most delicate part of your pH instrument. By following precise calibration steps alongside diligent maintenance, you'll ensure consistent, reliable measurements for years to come. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀: ✅ Minimise Physical Contact: To maintain accuracy and prevent damage, avoid direct contact with the sensor. If you need to handle the sensor, use a soft lint-free paper. ✅ Handling: Before and After each measurement, give your sensor a thorough rinse with distilled water and then blot dry with lint-free paper to remove excess water. This step is especially vital when dealing with aggressive materials such as corrosive substances. It keeps your sensor residue-free and in top shape. Important Note: Avoid wiping the sensor to remove excess water, as it can generate static charges that disrupt accurate pH measurements. ✅ Storage: Store your pH Sensor In its box in a dry place. Ensure the end cap is fitted with a couple of drops of pH storage solution to keep the glass tip moist to prevent it from drying out. Remember, tap or demineralised water won't do the trick. ✅ Cleaning the pH Meter sensor: The cleaning method depends on the contamination: ✅ For routine cleaning, soak the pH electrode in a solution of 0.1 M HCl or 0.1 M HNO3 for 15-20 minutes. ✅ For Algae Growth: Use a mild soap solution or alcohol. Submerge the Sensor about 3-5 cm into the solution and let it soak for 15 minutes. ✅ For Fat and Oil: Utilise a water-soluble organic cleaner like acetone. Follow up with a good rinse using distilled water. ✅ For Protein: Try an HCl/pepsin solution and let the pH Sensor soak for a few hours, then rinse thoroughly with distilled water. The best packing way for cod liver oil capsule ----counting or weighing? No matter the cod liver oil capsules are packed in pouch or bottle, the best way for it is counting packing. As we all know the fish oil capsule is extremely light and high-value. Take Swiss for instance, one capsule weighs 0.8g and costs $0.17 and most consuming situation is taking a fixed amount of oil capsules on time everyday. That is to say, the consumer has a eating plan which is well-organized and don't want to be disrupted. This reflects on the total amount----they need exactly amount so that can make smoother arrangement which weighing can't guarantee. Considering precision, cost, convenience for the customer, counting is better than weighing. So how can we achieve accurate counting by existing technology? We, as Hengli's team, using self-developed photoeye laser to do the counting thing. As we can see, the inside of the capsule is transparent making it hard for the photoeye to detect whether there is piece or not. We use the property that the two ends of the capsule coat can be detected to detect it by reprogramming. Once both ends are fully detected, the count is one. Perfect solution to the problem of hard to count soft capsules in package industry.
