Celebrating #InternationalRecyclingDay here in #LasTorresPatagonia. Did you know that our bar is an icon of sustainability in the region? The glassware found in Bar Pionero is made from recycled bottles, which have been crafted by bar staff and groups of volunteers and university interns. Each bottle is cut, sanded, and then transformed into glassware. Sustainable mixology reuses 100% of the natural resources used for the production, preparation and presentation of drinks. Thanks to this innovative approach, it not only reduces the bar’s carbon footprint by 80%, but also incorporates time-honored techniques. The ingredients used in our drinks come from our organic garden, or from the wild lands of Patagonia. This gives our drinks unique flavors that can only be found in this region of the world. The Hotel Las Torres head bartender, Federico Gil, explains that the Andiperla is named after a small winged insect known as the Patagonian plecopteran. This small animal has the peculiar ability to make glaciers its habitat, which is why it is also known as the Patagonian Dragon. So what makes the Andiperla zero waste? This unique drink is served in an edible glass, which is made of a cookie crafted with dehydrated lemon peel shavings, and coated with an inner layer of white chocolate that makes it impermeable when served. Is there anything quite as heavenly as a sticky toffee pudding? Picture this: a moist sponge infused with finely chopped dates, smothered in a luscious toffee sauce and topped with a generous dollop of vanilla custard or ice cream. It's a dessert lover's dream come true! While the origins of sticky toffee pudding may be debated, Australia and New Zealand claim to have invented the sticky toffee pudding, one thing is for sure: it has captured the hearts and taste buds of dessert enthusiasts worldwide. Popularized by Francis Coulson at the beloved Sharrow Bay Hotel in 1960, this delectable treat has become a beloved classic. And if you find yourself in the charming village of Cartmel, a visit to the village shop in the square is an absolute must. There, you can pick up a handmade sticky toffee pudding crafted with only the finest natural ingredients. Trust me, it's worth the trip! Is there a better dessert than the sticky toffee pudding? #SustainableTravel #TravelResponsibly #PositiveChange #SustainableChoices _____________________________________________________________ I am Cristina and I believe that there are always sustainable solutions and alternatives, and by traveling consciously, we can transform tourism into one of the most significant vehicles for change. Somehow it seems to taste so much better when you see how and where it is grown. It’s why wine tasting at the vineyard or farm to table restaurants are so popular. Perhaps it’s because you feel the connection between produce and soil, or you sense the passion the producer has for their product. Even the simplest lettuce heart, drizzled with oil from the olive grove in the next field can taste as good as any Michelin starred meal. And as in food and wine, so too with everything else in a destination. You see it and understand it so much better when you see it with someone local, who knows the best and the worst places…. And sometimes the worst bits can be the best! You can do some research online, but it’s not quite the same as hearing it from someone on the ground. And it’s not just what you know, it’s who you know. You might find the best pintxos bar in Pamplona online, but that doesn’t mean you will get in. An experienced guide will not only get you in, but get you served quickly and help you choose from that crazy menu. Organised tours that you see promoted in your hotel can be fine, but are usually aimed at the average audience, not you, and not around your particular interests. A private tour might be a little more expensive, but it’s going to deliver exactly what you want. If you want to see a destination up close, to get your fingernails dirty (metaphorically) and gain a real understanding of where you are, a private tour with the right guide is the best way. That could just be a day trip or it could be an extended tour of a region. It could be based around food and wine, local culture, history, architecture, sport, art, street art… even a collection of vintage Rolls Royces. Whatever your interest, there is a guide for you to make sure you get the best tour you could possibly have. How well do you know your favourite destination? What have you not yet seen, smelt tasted, heard, felt? Who do you know who could organise all that for you? #tours #travel #notjusttravel

The Guardian's recent exploration of the evolution of water into a diversified luxury highlights a fascinating shift in our consumption habits. At EIRA, we've observed this transformation, recognizing the opportunity to bring something truly essential back to the table: water in its most natural state. Sourced from the serene depths of Eresfjord, Norway, EIRA Water is a statement of clarity in an increasingly complex market. Our perspective? Water doesn't need to be overcomplicated to be luxurious. The real luxury lies in its origin, its journey to you, and the preservation of its natural purity. Read more about The Guardian's insights and how EIRA Water is contributing to the redefinition of hydration:

For some reason, my family were always somewhat against tours whenever we visited a new place. I think the idea behind that was: ❌ Group tours 🟰 unwanted interactions with a bunch of strangers ❌ Private tours 🟰 expensive ❌ All tours are not customisable and take out a significant chunk of your day But since I've been working in tourism, a lot has changed about the way I travel, including my opinion about tours. The way I see them now is: ✅ Insider knowledge about an area ✅ No need for me to plan out an entire day (including routes and where to eat) ✅ Relative feeling of safety and confidence instead of visiting everything alone ➕ Maybe you interact with some strangers, but you have a shared interest in the thing you're touring, and you never have to see them again I mention this in case there is anyone out there who still doesn't like the idea of tours. I highly recommend you try one out and see if it changes your mind. I've been on a lot of tours for work lately, and this is my latest piece about them, if you're interested in food in Tokyo: https://lnkd.in/gM-MUums
