Starting a business? You need 1 Million Cups. 7 years ago, I started attending my local chapter of the entrepreneurial community called 1 Million Cups. It was a gift. I still recall the feedback I got after my first presentation: “you just talked for 6 minutes, but I still don’t know what you do.” It was the honest perspective I wasn’t getting anywhere else. I would come and go over the years, meeting great people and learning from them. 2 years ago I stepped in as lead organizer. Something awesome started happening when I showed up every week, asked others for help, and kept refining and testing my own business models on stage. Now, I find that what we hope will happen to every attendee is happening to me: business is taking off and I have to step away from regular attendance. 1 Million Cups is a community that will help you grow if you let it. I'm still in it with a "We haven't made a decision yet..." 😂 You know that feeling, right? It's the end of the year, you're this close to closing that massive deal, but the client is still playing it cool. They're saying all the right things, but that final "yes" is still hanging in the balance. It's like being a kid on Christmas Eve, staring at the biggest, most beautifully wrapped present under the tree, just knowing it's the toy you've been dreaming of all year... but having to wait just a little longer to rip it open! 🎁 But hey, here's the silver lining: "We haven't made a decision yet" is a whole lot better than a "no," right?! 😉 It means the deal is still alive! So, while we're all sipping eggnog, decking the halls, and spreading holiday cheer, let's keep those good vibes flowing and send out some positive energy to our clients! My thoughts on home and what makes home a home this holiday season.

WHAT PEOPLE WANT (OR RATHER NOT) FROM AI... 😶 I am finding it a little hard to disagree. And I laughed real hard 😅 - thanks Dr. Bettina Palazzo - Business Ethics for making my day 😉. On a more serious note: ❌ I am annoyed by all the posts and emails indubitably written by AI. It´s just getting one soup of blah - pardon my French. It lacks a personal note, it doesn´t show any personal style, it doesn´t show creativity. If this is how people will learn how to "express themselves", I am lacking a fundamental part of "real" intelligence behind text. ❌ I am annoyed by all the AI-generated images that nowadays "decorate" so, so many posts. Tech is cool, and the fact that a software can generate all these pics is impressive. But I am missing, again, personal style, creativity, trying out something... ❌ I am getting tired by all those avatars. Although I probably have a more than fair share of selfies on my phone (thank you, Instagram!), I yet have to see how my avatar looks like. Ask me again in a few years. ✅ I like to see AI being used to generate better data, quicker analyses, and lots of other useful stuff. And yeah, I woudn´t mind seeing AI taking over my ironing board 😆. #ai #data #pov
