I'm sharing my thoughts on #BIM and #socialvalue today, great to showcase all the good work by the group, but a shame that with my presenting obligations, I can't attend all the other sessions too! but don't worry, we'll be sharing important takeaways from each session on our LinkedIn and website over the coming weeks, so keep an eye out #SCFvalues #teamNACF
Great to see everyone today at the 11th Annual Construction Conference by LGA and NACF. The first event hosted by our new chair John Simons, with seminars by Mike Raven, Peter Ware, Katy Robinson, Adam Sanford, Lee Ramsey, and also an update on the new The Joint Contracts Tribunal contracts. We're sure there's something for everyone to take away from the day.

It was a packed room at MFMac's highly successful breakfast seminar earlier this week, which brought all sections of Scotland's construction industry together to consider the significant findings and recommendations in the Grenfell Inquiry's recently published report. We were delighted to be joined by our guest speaker, leading industry expert Professor Jose Torero of University College London, who was the principal technical adviser to the Grenfell Inquiry. Professor Torero gave an excellent presentation on the Inquiry's investigations and the many complexities involved, and explained the findings and reasoning behind the many recommendations made. These findings will have far-reaching implications for the construction industry going forward, and this seminar was attended by representatives from right across the industry, including employers, developers, architects, engineers, contractors and consultant professional bodies such as the RIAS and RICS - all of whom were determined to learn lessons and to try to work to make sure that the tragedy of the Grenfell disaster is not repeated.
