I worked on Combat Direction Systems for the #USN for over 20 years, and a lot of these trends have been developing for decades. #CEC in many ways the successor or supplementer to NTDS, allowed a multiplatform naval/marine force to operate in real time as a single organism. In this article consultant Dr. Alix Valenti discusses the evolution of naval Combat Management Systems (#CMS) in response to the increasing speed and complexity of modern maritime threats across multiple domains.
