Belfast City Council’s Post

Our council is joining with other local authorities in NI to support the Northern Ireland Executive to deliver its seven-year Strategic Framework, led by the Executive Office, to End Violence Against Women and Girls. Applications are now open for the Local Change Fund, providing almost £250,000 towards community projects in Belfast aimed at raising awareness, promoting healthy, respectful relationships and helping women and girls feel, and be, safe everywhere. Up to £25,000 is available for individual projects, and we're holding online info sessions on Thursday 23 and Tuesday 28 January for groups to find out more. An in-person event is also planned for City Hall on Monday 3 February. We're also working with Belfast & Lisburn Women's Aid to offer free training to community and voluntary organisations who want to better understand the issues around ending violence against women and girls and how they can support this work. 180 places are available between now and March.
