To-do list is laughing at you? I was there too. Then, I found a surprising solution… In 2007, J.K. Rowling was under pressure. She had to finish "The Deathly Hallows." Her home office was full of distractions. She needed a change. Rowling checked into the Balmoral Hotel. Not just any hotel. A classic Victorian building. Near Edinburgh Castle. One of her inspirations for Hogwarts. This was a grand gesture. It cost time and money. But it created the perfect environment. Her task felt important, reducing procrastination and boosting her motivation. The result? She finished the book that captivated millions (Including me 🤗) Inspired, I made a change too: ~ Bought domain and hosting for my website. ~ Rearranged my workspace. ~ Invested in paid tools for my next project. Small compared to Rowling's move. But it really helped me with my focus and productivity. P.S. Sometimes, a bold change is all it takes. P.S.S. Our proudest memories often originate from our toughest experiences. This week, it was an absolute pleasure to provide Justine White and Gary Smith from Jacobsen with an impromptu tour of some of the work we've been doing at Wellington Hospital. Their compliments not only recognized the exceptional standard of our installers' work (which truly deserves 90% of the credit), but also highlighted their admiration for how we managed the intricacies of such large, unconventional and unorthodox challenging projects. Reflecting on these big projects, it's remarkable to realize that they've become just another day in the office for us. However, this wasn't always the case. This experience got me thinking about the transformative mindset I've embraced over the past 2-3 years: the mindset of leaning into hard things. I initially applied this mindset to my personal pursuits, such as hunting, with transformative results. Over time, I've seen how it has permeated into my work life and even my relationships at home. Doing hard things builds resilience and strengthens the mind. Eventually, what once seemed insurmountable becomes manageable, and we're ready to tackle even bigger challenges. The decant ward project was undoubtedly tough, presenting numerous challenges. Yet, it's also one of the projects I'm most proud of. Giving Justine and Gary the tour was a privilege that reinforced my pride in my team and all that we've achieved, and continue to achieve. What's our next challenge? Maybe you can help me? Bring me a hard project! A tough job! A risky job! One that will bring us a healthy dose of discomfort. #StayHard #CantHurtMe #WellingtonVinyl #CommercialFlooringWellington

What drives travel? It’s not 🌅 sunsets, that’s for sure. It’s the activity. ⛵ Not the destination. It’s the emotion. ❤️ Not the location. Great example: Pensacola, Florida. Most people don’t know their secret. Beaches. Not the course tan sand you see elsewhere, but snow-white powdery sand that is pillow soft. Miles and miles of it. Visit Pensacola, Inc. does an incredible job going beyond “check out our beaches.” Every bit of their beach content focuses on what to do at the beach. Check it out: https://lnkd.in/gBWWAUf3 As you gather your summer content, keep people front and center. Showcase the activities in your community and keep creating itinerary-themed content!

Business Opportunity Strategist | I work with service-based pros to own their voice, simplify their business, and boost high-ticket sales, to have more time to be a happy human outside of their work.
Anyone else already getting summer camp sign-up notifications IN JANUARY for July camps? As an entrepreneur who is also a mom of small children, I am preparing half a year ahead to make sure that things will run smoothly through the summer while my kids are home. Last year, we did Camp Mom. This consisted of a lighter summer schedule for me, with only the essential meetings staying on my calendar such as: client meetings, Grow Your Network events, and the couple events per month that were put on by the communities I am part of. And guess what? It all flowed. I got to spend time with my girls making memories. We went on family camping and hiking trips, and got to spend afternoons at the beach. My clients got support and saw that it was okay to take time to be with their families and do what they needed to do to support the other part of who they were outside of their CEO persona. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't perfect, but having an abbreviated schedule so I could enjoy the summer with my girls was exactly what we needed. So while I could send them to camp all summer so I can work, that's not the life I want to model for them. My oldest is already telling me that 6-hours at school is too long! So as we kick off 2024, I am preparing myself and my clients to have a schedule that supports their life. You can still close high-ticket sales. You can still work with incredible clients. You can still be a kick-ass CEO and a happy human. And you will be happier knowing that you created boundaries to do both. How do you plan for time where you are either needed by a small human(s), or just want time off to do you? Is your business supporting your ability to do that? If not, let's connect. It's possible to have it all.

From Hawkeye to Eagle-Eye: Focusing on Real Estate Development Happy (late) Labor Day! 🎉 As we celebrate the 130th anniversary #LaborDay (made official in 1894 #FunFact), it's also a great time to reflect on the unofficial end of summer and what’s ahead. Last Week Recap We started by taking a broad “Hawkeye” view of Real Estate—comparing Residential vs. Commercial, then zooming in on Commercial Real Estate (CRE), and finally narrowing down to Real Estate Development (RED). This Week II Transitioning to an “Eagle-Eye” view, we begin diving deeper into Real Estate Development. The focus? Building a solid foundation. Planning strategically from the start will save you time, energy, and money while maximizing returns. Here’s what’s coming up next: Today I'll share my personal journey into real estate and what led me into RED. Tomorrow, we take a closer look at Asset Type & Location – and how to choose what’s best for you. Thursday, more on my personal focus areas and why they matter. Friday, an introduction to my current development project, which I’ll be using as a case study. Stay tuned! Let's dive into this RED journey together. #RealEstateDevelopment #RED101 #StrategicPlanning #AssetTypes #LocationMatters #LaborDay
