Pope: Temperance is the virtue of self-mastery, of healthy discretion, guiding us to keep desires within the bounds of what is honourable. It is in harmony with the Gospel values of littleness, discretion and meekness. https://lnkd.in/gU92BJmz

"A TIME TO PRAY" Ecclesiastes 3-8 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Final sermon in our discipleship series. Following Jesus as a "hidden one"--not famous, not noticed, but faithful. What is that like and what does it mean that "God sees us!" Listen to this important message. https://lnkd.in/g64uED8A

Why is there such a strong opposition to the gospel of Jesus Christ? As a missionary for over 40 years, Delron and his wife, Peggy, teach and disciple evangelists in foreign countries through their ministry. They are holding pastors’ and leaders’ conferences all over the world and have many of their books translated into their local languages. Watch this episode and hear the tremendous stories of many people who value the truth of God’s Word more than their own lives. This is a MUST see!

Philippians 4:6 is a scripture that has conditions that must be met and a promise that will be realized as a result. The conditions are as follows: Decide not to be anxious. Commit everything to God in prayer. Pray with supplication (humble entreaty or petition). Pray with thanksgiving unto God. When we meet the fourfold condition of this passage, we can expect to receive the promise of embodying the peace of God which carries with it the fourfold benefit of replacing anxiety, surpassing our understanding, guarding (hence protecting) our hearts as well as our minds. Now that promise of peace is enough positive power to get us through, carry us over, and lift us above any situation that comes our way. Let's position ourselves to meet the fourfold conditions found in Philippians 4:6 so that we can receive the fourfold promise!
