I’ve always thought that the “great consolidation” amongst health systems will lead to large regional Kaiser-esque models, where the payors, clinicians, and facilities are integrated. What’s really interesting about Jaewon Ryu’s statement below is he says Geisinger is the “first inaugural member.” That makes me think Risant Health isn’t done, it wasn’t just a singular acquisition, but will be the first of many other “member” organizations that will lead to a huge conglomerate across the nation. What do you think? Am I reading into this too much? Or will Risant rival HCA + UHC in its ability to gain market share through vertical integration of clinical and health plan assets?
Our founder, Abigail Geisinger, famously said to “make my hospital right; make it the best.” In 1915, that meant building the best hospital and having the best doctors and nurses. Today, making it the best also means having the best technology, digital tools, data and analytics, creating the best consumer experience, and so much more – all coming together to deliver the best care possible to improve the health of our communities. That is why Geisinger is proud to formally join Risant Health as its inaugural member, which will accelerate our vision to make better health easier for the communities we serve here in Pennsylvania and to be a part of a solution that we believe can transform health care in America. And we are excited to join in that path with Kaiser Permanente, a world-class organization and kindred spirit that has long been the gold standard in positively impacting the health of populations and communities. But none of this would be possible without the tremendous foundation that has been built here over so many years by so many people, to make Geisinger a leader in advancing the best health of communities. Big shout-out and thanks to our team members, our board of directors, and our communities that support us and entrust us with their health. It is truly an exciting day for us as we enter this bright future ahead.

Human Experience Week recognises and celebrates that the experiences of our patients, their families and carers cannot be separated from the experiences of our caregivers (staff and volunteers). The theme for 2024, Innovate to Elevate, focuses on the importance of amplifying voices to inspire hope and making the important shift from surviving to thriving by removing the pebbles in our shoes. At NSW Health, we know that the exceptional patient experience is more than receiving excellent clinical care. How that care is delivered and how it makes us feel is just as important. When you have trusted partners like Jeff and John and the REDi team you take them to your most important relationships, to help with the most critical challenges where the stakes are the highest: preserving healthcare in rural communities. Together we found the formula and we can’t wait to show you how.
Thank you Angelina Salazar, Marnell Bradfield, and Tom Northey from Western Healthcare Alliance, for hosting REDi Health in Denver for strategic planning. Approaching our fourth year of working together, we feel tremendous gratitude for the continuing and expanding partnership. WHA took a chance on REDi Health when you didn’t have to and we will forever be grateful for the trust and grace. Our mutual alignment around rural care, strengthening communities and keeping care local is noble and inspiring work. WHA and Community Care Alliance Care Alliance are making a difference for hospitals on the Colorado western slope!

✨ Grateful to Aenta Better Health of Illinois for the incredible opportunity to speak on the panel at the 2024 ABHIL Value-Based Care Summit! ✨ It was an honor to join industry leaders and providers to discuss how we can collaboratively transform health care through value-based care models. During the panel, we explored key topics essential to advancing mental health care: - **Integration of Behavioral Health and Primary Care:** We discussed effective strategies for integrating behavioral health services into primary care settings to improve patient outcomes and best practices for coordinating care between primary care providers and behavioral health specialists. - **Data-Driven Approach:** The role of data analytics in identifying and managing behavioral health populations within Medicaid and leveraging predictive modeling to proactively address behavioral health needs were highlighted. - **Access to Care:** We explored strategies to increase access to behavioral health services for Medicaid members and how telehealth and innovative solutions can bridge gaps in care, especially in underserved areas. - **Addressing Stigma and Disparities:** Successful initiatives in reducing stigma associated with seeking behavioral health care and addressing health disparities to ensure equitable access to services for all Medicaid members were shared. At Brave Health, we believe in the power of collaboration to expand access to mental health care. By partnering with other providers, we strive to ensure that more individuals receive the support they need. A special thank you to my fellow panelists Marilyn Griffin, MD, DFAPA, DFAACAP and Hector B. and our moderator Nicole Gillis Your insights and expertise were invaluable to the discussion. #ValueBasedCare #MentalHealth #BraveHealth #HealthcareInnovation #ABHILSummit #Aetna

Convinced that every class in a Catholic school should be taught from a Catholic worldview? Need resources, ideas, staff buy-in, or just a place to start? #MakingEveryClassCatholic is what I do! Let's get started.
You know what would be a fun and informative assignment? Trying to estimate the economic value of the contributions of Catholic religious sisters to health care (or you could choose another field). You could set some parameters. E.g., within geographical location X (maybe your home city, county, state or province), from year YYYY to ZZZZ. What curricular outcomes could you hit with this in subjects like history, math, social studies, or health? #MakingEveryClassCatholic
Catholic nuns played a pivotal role in shaping America's healthcare system by founding nearly 500 hospitals across the United States between 1866 and 1926. Their dedication and service laid the foundation for modern medical care and compassionate treatment. 🏥✨ Their work inspires our community to continue fostering innovation in medicine and science.
