The 2023 bp sustainability report has been released. Notable achievements include the implementation of a methane measurement approach across bp's operated upstream oil and gas assets, maintaining a 41% reduction in scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions compared to 2019, a 29% decrease in freshwater withdrawals, and a 15% decrease in freshwater consumption from the 2020 baseline. 🌏 Sustainability Snippet ♻️ Did you know that replacing the inputs or raw material of a product can help reduce carbon emissions? Changing a product’s raw materials usually involves replacing non-renewable inputs. Indeed, choosing materials from renewable sources leads to a reduction of CO2 emissions At Formica Group, a large share of emissions is associated with the creation of materials used in our products. Therefore, we are focusing on product and process designs that optimize the use of materials so that our finished product delivers outstanding performance while requiring less material input. Like with Paris 2024, sustainability is a core focus of the Brisbane 2032 Legacy Strategy. Initiatives include: > Renewable Energy Projects: Developing solar and wind projects to power the Games sustainably. For example, the Darling Downs Solar Farm and the Coopers Gap Wind Farm are key projects contributing to Queensland's renewable energy targets > Resilient Rivers Program: Improving water quality and river health across Southeast Queensland, benefiting local environments and communities. This initiative aims to restore natural habitats and enhance biodiversity > SEQ Waste Management Plan: Elevating waste management practices to reduce environmental impact. This includes new recycling facilities and waste-to-energy projects These measures aim to reduce the environmental footprint of the Games and create a model for future large-scale events. Regions like the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast will benefit from enhanced waste management systems and expanded green spaces, contributing to a healthier environment.

Today we published our 2023 Annual Report and Sustainability Report, which outline our plans for future growth and achieving net zero by 2040 or sooner. Operational highlights include: 🚮 Diverting 936,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste from landfill ♻ Sorting 75,000 tonnes of recyclable waste 💡 Generating 476GWh of electricity – enough to power 176,000 homes We also made significant progress in our strategic growth plans in 2023. The two key elements of these plans are growing operations and increasing the amount of waste diverted from landfill, and investing in the technology to cut carbon emissions. We are delivering on this through the construction of Riverside 2, which will displace a further 650,000 tonnes of waste from landfill, and the development of a Carbon Capture and Storage project which will capture CO2 emissions from both our EfW facilities. Key highlights from the report include: Diverted more than 10.2 million tons of material from landfills in 2023, including fresh fly ash, bottom ash, and harvested landfilled ash Avoided 5.9 million metric tonnes of CO2 emissions through the use of sustainable products, equivalent to powering over 769,000 homes for a full year On track to double SCM volumes to 20 million tons annually by 2030, up from 10 million tons in 2023 Successfully issued an additional $125 million in Green Bonds, bringing the total to $650 million, to fund sustainable projects and innovations Partnered with ClimeCo and other stakeholders to develop the first-ever U.S. Low-Carbon Cement Protocol for generating voluntary carbon credits Reduced Total Recordable Incident Rate below 1.0, significantly lower than the industry average, reflecting the Company's strong commitment to employee safety

Sustainability is a journey we have chosen to follow as a business. We’re proud to develop programs and initiatives that support our customers’ ambitions, while also driving our own internal Sustainability goals. One of these goals is to be as energy-efficient as possible. To achieve this, the Moderna production facility in Belgium has been designed with a forward-looking approach. For example, all excess heat generated from our production processes is recovered and reused to heat all our buildings. In addition, we generate 30% of our own energy through the installation of 6.153 solar panels on our roof. Since their installation in August 2022, these solar panels have already contributed to the following green achievements: 🪵 1.84K tons of standard coal saved  🌬️ 2.18K tons of CO₂ emissions avoided  🌳 2.98K trees planted Want to learn more about our other Sustainability goals and achievements? Realizing sustainability targets requires real action. One example of how we are making our contribution to a successful energy transition is reducing Scope 3 emissions in our grid supply chain by using recycled copper in our power transformers.
