At a small gathering of family and colleagues, we celebrated the retirement of a truly remarkable team member, Craig Lucas, after an incredible 37 years. It was a heartfelt evening as we reminisced about Craig's career, his 35-year history with our own Rodney Roalsen and his dad, "Rubber Ron", and the special moment when he met his wife, Juana, through his work. Craig’s passion and dedication have left a lasting impact on all of us here, and he will be greatly missed. Thank you, Craig, for your unwavering commitment and the countless memories. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement!

🔶 Communications Expert / 🎙 Keynote Speaker / 💥 Trainer / 📺 20+ yrs Comm/Mktg/PR Leader ➡️ Leverage communication styles to close bigger deals, win new business, and strengthen team dynamics.
Yesterday was Todd Lisle's retirement reception at FORVIS in Dallas. This guy has been serving in a Managing Partner role for many years, and it's time to move on and play more golf. ⛳️ Chris Clark spoke at the reception, and he said something about Todd's leadership that really resonated with me (and made me so proud too). Todd has said this SO. MANY. TIMES. over the years.... 👇 "If you care about someone, you'll tell them the truth." Being a truth teller can be TOUGH, right? Having hard conversations is tricky for us all. Sure, some are better at it than others. But, when you understand communication styles - navigating hard conversations is a little bit easier to manage. I created a really awesome tool that will help you understand those styles AND give you practical advice on how to have those conversations too. 🔶 Drop the word GUIDEBOOK in the comments, and I'll send you the link. Happy retirement, babe!! 🧡 #communicationtips #executivecoaching #learninganddevelopment

“A New Chapter, A New Home 🏡” After 10 years away from our home state, building careers, and starting a family, we’re excited to finally plant roots closer to our extended family. This is our second home purchase in three years, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the journey that brought us here. A lot has changed for us recently—new state, new career, and new opportunities. But one thing that stayed consistent was the importance of having a solid financial foundation. Thanks to our emergency savings and long-term retirement funds, we felt secure even while making such big life transitions. It’s easy to get caught up in the “what-ifs,” but having a strong foundation gave us the confidence to take these steps. If you’re thinking about your own goals—whether it’s buying your first home, changing careers, or another dream—what does your financial foundation look like? The journey isn’t always smooth, but with the right financial groundwork, you can make it happen. Curious about what it takes to get there? Maybe it’s time to start thinking about a roadmap that helps you turn dreams into reality. 💭

⭐️ Merlin Search is five years old! ⭐️ Some say it takes five years to build a complex technology platform and establish a company. All John Tredennick can say is, ”it has been a great five years and I wouldn't trade it for the world.” Why would anyone consider retirement when they have the chance to work with brilliant people and build technology that truly makes a difference? Well, they don’t. These first five years mark just the beginning. Stay tuned to see what we will deliver in the next five. #Growth #GenAI #LegalTech

My plan for retirement? I want to be a passive real estate investor. During nearly 20 years actively managing real estate, I've had to: -> File restraining orders. -> Drive hours to fix frozen pipes. -> Deal with properties getting swept up in riots. (That's not to mention missing Green Bay Packers playoff games to work..) Never a dull day as a real estate investor. Rarely a day without a headache, either. And don't get me wrong — I love the life real estate has built for me: • I can spend more time with my son. • I don't have to answer to a boss. • I've traveled all over the world. But someday... I'll be ready to relax. To not deal with the stress and the responsibility and the late nights. And when that day comes around, there's a good chance I'll be a passive real estate investor. I've seen what it can do for others. And the benefits are hard to ignore. So if you're a passive real estate investor (or you're thinking of becoming one)... I salute you. You're already living my retirement.

Enjoy a short retirement
Retirement, I can't quite believe that after nearly 16 years at MinterEllison and more years than I care to remember I'm retiring (well at least for now).

Today marks the 7th anniversary of the sudden passing of a dear friend @ 43 years old. Before you quickly remind me that this is Linkedin and not Facebook, please allow me to explain how this has shaped my professional financial views. In addition to advancing the industry’s methods of evaluating investor risk tolerance and portfolio alignment, one key output of Tolerisk is an innovative measurement of someone’s probability of running out of money. One of the most common questions I get is what’s the “right” probability of running out of money? Some think the lower the better. I disagree. The sacrifices we make to reduce our risk of outliving our money generally entail spending less and working longer. Allowing some acceptable probability (risk) of running out of money enables us to potentially gain more enjoyment out of our time along the way. The sad truth is that we don’t all make it to retirement. My wish for us all is that we live each day to the fullest and recognize that the journey is just as important as the finish line.

Check out this podcast episode with our advisor, Aaron B. Moore and our former CEO Michael Schmitz!
I Help Tech and Medical Executives with Stock Options Pursue Financial Independence | Wealth Advisor @ SageCrest Wealth Management
Many of us have had the honor and privilege to know and work with SageCrest's now-retired CEO Michael Schmitz. Have you been curious what happened to this legend upon retiring from the industry? Like many of our clients approaching or entering retirement, life can take some fascinating turns and change dramatically (for the better!!!). Michael took his retirement serious and uprooted out of the #BayArea for a remote but beautiful part of the country in North West Idaho, to build his dream home and live out the next chapter of life. Michael has been instrumental in my life's journey joining forces with SageCrest Wealth Management to cure the world of financial cancer. This is just a small clip from our interview, and I encourage everyone who knows and loves Michael to listen to the whole interview! I promise we kept it succinct and to the point. #retirementlifestyle #exponentialwealth #sagecrestwealthmanagement
