Behind the Scenes: Capturing the Invisible in Ultra-High Definition
The idea for this video was to showcase the extraordinary beauty and precision of everyday items at GVS Lab objects when captured at over 1000 frames per second in 4K resolution. Using the GVS9000 VTR for direct-to-disk recording paired with our Nomadic 4U Fibre Channel storage, we’ve created a seamless workflow that allows us to capture uncompressed, high-speed footage from any source, whether it's from advanced cameras like Phantom Vision Research or high-speed microscopy.
This project was about more than just slow motion—it’s about revealing the hidden dance of mechanical elements and demonstrating the potential of cutting-edge recording and storage technology. Our goal was to turn a seemingly simple mix of metric and imperial screws into a captivating ballet of motion, emphasizing the precision and complexity that often goes unnoticed.
The GVS9000 and Nomadic 4U combination enables us to handle immense data loads with ease, providing local, reliable, and high-speed storage that eliminates bottlenecks in data management.
