Our third annual Friendsgiving Cultural Potluck was a hit! 🦃 🥐
It's always a privilege to appreciate different cultural cuisine, while strengthening the bond between coworkers. Thank you to everyone who contributed and joined us. We are incredibly grateful for you!
Something to think about with your morning coffee ☕
"Third places", which are informal spots to gather outside of home and work for socializing, have been features of societies going back to antiquity, from Greek agora and Viennese cafés to barber shops and Burger King dining rooms.
As we’ve shifted our lives online, there are now fewer third places that provide communities and individuals with opportunities to engage in low-stakes hangs and chance encounters with people of different ages, backgrounds, and life experiences.
If third places once represented readymade outlets for community, then in their growing absence, should we look to create what is called “third lives.”

Grateful to have gotten a chance to present and share my experience working at the Guest Services department at a conclave in the presence of senior management and executives from the Carnival Cruise Line corporate office, Miami.
Thankful to my hotel director Pierre, Guest Services Manager Sanja and my team for all the support and opportunity to present.
I consider this donation story as one of my great achievements working at guest services.
When I look back, all I can think and learn is;
1) You go beyond your potential when you have a thirst for learning and growing.
2) When you love what you do sky is the limit.
3) With a positive attitude and the right intentions nothing is impossible to achieve.
4) Accepting challenges increases your potential to perform.
5) Own your fears do not let them overwhelm you.

Recently, Nicola Rothmann and I facilitated Global Creatures global conference at the Taronga Zoo. Global Creatures is a spectacular (like literally) theatre production company. You'll know them for the stage productions of Moulin Rouge, Strictly Ballroom, King Kong, How to Train Your Dragon to name a few. There are so many fabulous things to celebrate from this day;
1. The generosity of their Founder and leader Carmen Pavlovic. Flying people from around the world, putting them up in an incredible venue and then taking them out onto the harbour is an act of complete love and gratitude.
2. Asking everyone to contribute to their values and behaviours and owning them together - is how you create something magical.
3. How you are treated with kindness and open arms by everyone from Judy Fuccilli who leads people and culture to Julie N. who makes sure everything happens on time and perfectly. I can't name everyone as it will take up this feed but you are pure delights.
And one of my absolute happy moments was chatting to the meerkats. I love this lil’ critter. Especially when they are from the most cohesive tribe in all the mammal kingdom. So much to learn about how they make it work. Being curious (what if that was our default when opposition comes our way), having an immunity when they get bitten (what if we didn't take people personally) and getting the job done (no one calling the unions when asked to do something not on their position description). If only we made it so simple.
Thanks Global Creatures. One of my fav experiences.

One of earliest lessons we learned in developing the ONEderful platform is that the tool is only powerful if we first supply patients with the same level of care and attention they receive from their providers.
We couldn't ask for a more passionate, charismatic, and thoughtful leader to helm the team that is wholly responsible for supporting patients as they navigate and select financing offers for their treatment on ONEderful.
Cheers to many more, Cassie!
Sarah and I arrived at the hotel. I am giving a keynote address on the success principles that empower individuals and organizations to take their journey from great to extraordinary. The staff at the Westin blew us away with their hospitality and aloha. They gave us our keys and sent us on our way. It took us a minute to find the room and when we did, it was marvelous! They gave us the presidential penthouse suite. (Here’s a little tour...)
As a guy who studies the common traits of extraordinary behavior and achievement, one of the traits I admire most is the joy of living between simplicity and extravagance. As many of you know I started my journey living in a Volkswagen Bus, eating food off my Coleman stove and now living in a tiny home on an organic farm. It is incredibly fulfilling bouncing between these two realities.
Having spent time with some of the most successful and wealthy people on this planet, those that can afford and buy all the luxuries one can imagine, I have seen first hand how happy they are with nothing. I know, you’re probably saying, “That’s easy for them, they have everything.” But I can assure that they didn’t always have everything. In fact, many of the truly great visionaries, pioneers and leaders of industry, came from nothing, so they had nothing to lose. They began their journeys from humble beginnings. I have always believed if one can be grateful with little they can be rewarded with a lot.
Besides, life is fickle and we never know what’s around the next corner. So appreciate what you have and always make the best of where you are. Today we’re balling in our suite and in a couple of days, we’ll be back at the farm and I’ll be helping Sarah gather cow poop in buckets to fertilize the garden.
Somedays “You're the shit!” and others “You are in the shit!”
The big question is: Can you enjoy it all?
