Before the dust had settled from the acquisition of British Glues & Chemicals (BGC), Croda made another successful move — this time acquiring Bowmans Chemicals of Widnes. Bowmans manufactured important food acids such as lactic acid and malic acid, which add ‘tang’ to soft drinks, as well as speciality chemicals for metal finishing. By the end of 1968, Croda had not only integrated the mighty BGC but had also added Bowmans Chemicals to its growing portfolio, strengthening its position in food ingredients and speciality chemicals. #Croda100
