We never used to enter awards. Too busy. Too much effort. Too subjective. How do you judge the value of good design, when it’s part of a bigger ecosystem of branding that depends on so many other factors: brand power, product performance, advertising weight (and quality), distribution, promo pressure, competitor activity etc etc? And yet… With fmcg packaging, you have the ultimate branding tool, one that mediates the moment of truth when your brand is recognised and welcomed, as ‘an old friend or a new temptation’. Of course every other brand is aiming for this too, so it’s a race to the consumer’s subconscious, telling it just the right things in the right order…. to get bought! Doing this, then proving it, is one of the hardest things to achieve in our industry, so we’re extremely happy that our first ever entry into the prestigious dba design effectiveness awards was a winner! Happy 2024 friends! Over a decade ago, when Jeff and I embarked on the journey of founding The Bruxton Group, we envisioned it as a designer-led creative agency. Through the years, our collaborative efforts have spanned diverse campaigns, branding initiatives, event productions, and packaging projects. While we always operated as a full-service agency, it took us a decade to truly discern our passion and expertise, which now unmistakably lies in the realm of branding and packaging for consumer packaged goods (CPG).
