🚧 Interesting news coming out surrounding the potential strike ballot by Balfour Beatty M25 workers. Collaboration and communication are crucial to ensure the timely completion of projects. Let's hope both parties can find common ground through constructive dialogue, ensuring the well-being of workers and the continued progress of essential projects. 🏗️ Unite stated the roadworkers were angry after pay increase that was below the rate of inflation for the second year on the bounce... Is this sort of reaction being replicated at other organisations in the Highways sector and projects elsewhere in the UK? Here's a Know Before You Go... DOL to hold Davis-Bacon seminar for contractors: https://lnkd.in/gmtUnHf8 "On Aug. 29, the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division will offer an online seminar focused on requirements for paying prevailing wages on federally funded construction and service contracts. For contractors that work on federally funded infrastructure projects, it could serve as a much-needed refresher. The DOL updated the Davis-Bacon Act in October, in some cases increasing the wages employers need to pay on affected contracts. The day-long seminar will offer sessions on labor standard protections in the Davis-Bacon Act and the Service Contract Act, to include how the department sets and administers prevailing wage rules."
