Club Brugge & Shikenso in the UEFA Champions League! 🔥 Wait, what? Club Brugge, one of Belgium’s top football clubs, is preparing for their big matches in the Champions League, and we’re excited to join them! Our job? We’ll be measuring sponsorship exposure during these exciting games. As a marketer involved, let me share this: When partnerships like this come together, the first thing that happens is that both marketing teams start talking. We work together on timing, messaging, and ensuring the announcement is right. Then comes the quote… I always look forward to this moment. So when Stijn Vermoere, Commercial Director of Club Brugge, sent over his, it really hit home. "(... ) If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." It’s a great reminder of why we do this: partnerships mean going further together. 💪 Looking forward to our journey ahead! Want to know more about the tracking scope and read Stijn’s full quote? 📢 Football Club Management Masterclass Ft. Papa Perez. Real Madrid's financial health is in prime condition, setting them apart from their biggest rivals Barcelona. One of the key reasons is the newly renovated Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. This iconic venue is proving to be a game-changer, not just for football but as a versatile revenue generator. 🎤 On May 29 and 30, the stadium will host Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, selling out 85,000 tickets each night. Shakira is set to perform four concerts at the Bernabéu in 2025. But the vision doesn’t stop at concerts. Real Madrid aims to utilize the Bernabéu 365 days a year, maximizing its potential far beyond weekly football matches. ⚽ On June 1, 2024 fans can gather at the stadium for the Champions League Final Screening, continuing a beloved tradition, where Real Madrid play against Borussia Dortmund. 🏈 Looking ahead, the stadium will also host an NFL regular season game in 2025. UFC President Dana White has also hinted at future UFC events taking place at this world-class venue. 💰 A recent report from Jorge Picon highlights the financial impact, projecting that Real Madrid could earn an astonishing €400 million annually from the revamped Bernabéu. And this is before considering the potential revenue boost from the Super League, another ambitious project by Perez. Real Madrid's innovative approach to stadium management is a blueprint for modern sports management, showcasing how to turn a football stadium into a multi-purpose entertainment hub. #RealMadrid #SantiagoBernabeu #SportsManagement #Football #TaylorSwift #Shakira #NFL #UFC #RevenueGrowth #SuperLeague

📣 We are delighted to see the SuperLiga, Romania's elite football competition, recognized by The Guardian: "some of the attendance figures are eye-catching. A 27% hike in Norway’s Eliteserien, for example, along with 26% rises in the Polish Ekstraklasa and Romania’s SuperLiga. The latter two, in particular, have worked hard to make flagging products more appealing domestically [...] there is clear evidence that, if you build a likable local product, they will come." Under the partnership with Superbet, the SuperLiga had the highest stadium attendance in the last 20 years. More than 2,2 million supporters have been to the stadium during the 2023/2024 competitive season. 🙌 This acknowledgement is proof of the passion and hard work put in by our teams into growing the profile of local sports brands, both when it comes to clubs and competitions. ⚽ By partnering with Romania's top tier football competition and growing its regional brand awareness, while also collaborating with heritage football clubs from the Super Liga and the Ekstraklasa, we are demonstrating our commitment to share the thrill of the game with local communities of supporters. ✔ Full article in The Guardian here: https://lnkd.in/dSQd4YPE #SuperLiga #SportsBrands #Superbet #InternationalBrands

That time of the season again: Promotions and relegations Every season we see the fight for promotions intensify. The increase in revenue apart from prestige is the obvious reason. That led to us at Sports Business Institute Barcelona to do a quick analysis on the possible increase in revenue on promotions Taking the revenues of top teams away from each league, we find an average. That, essentially, would be the estimated jump from the average revenue of second tier league (by the way, top teams contribute an astonishing share of club total revenues. Sample this: #PremierLeague: top 6 contribute 56% of the total club revenues #Bundesliga: top 2 contribute 37% #Ligue1: PSG contributes 40%) The chart shows the possible jumps English football: Approx. €100+mn German football: approx. €80mn French football: approx. €50mn

🏟️ Behind the Introduction of Pitchside Seats at AC Milan’s San Siro Stadium 🌟 Last April, AC Milan added a layer of exclusivity to their matchday experience by introducing 14 pitchside seats between the home and visiting sides' dugouts. This move, dubbed the “Club 1899 Front Row Experience,” offers fans a unique close-up view of the action at San Siro Stadium, one of Europe's most iconic football grounds. 🏟️ These seats, inspired by the NBA’s courtside seats, allow fans to sit just above the stairs connecting the locker room with the field, close enough to hear coaches and potentially high-five players. 🏀⚽ 💼 Marketing and Promotion Effects: • Attract media attention and generate hype. • Add value for current and future sponsors and partners. • Initially allocated to celebrities and club partners, but will soon be available for purchase by die-hard fans. 📊 North American Fanbase: AC Milan’s North American fanbase has grown significantly, with the club ranking as the most popular Serie A brand in the U.S. Recent efforts include: • Ramping up global fan initiatives since 2018 under Elliott Management. • Continued focus under RedBird Capital Partners, with preseason camps in the U.S. strengthening the connection. 🎟️ Ticket Sales: Last season, 12% of AC Milan’s tickets were sold to U.S. fans, the highest share outside Italy. AC Milan finished second in Serie A last season and secured a UEFA Champions League spot. With major changes ahead, including a new manager and potential signings, the club remains focused on maintaining financial discipline and achieving self-sustainability. ⚽💼 📸: Club 1899 Front Row Experience / AC Milan #ACMilan #SanSiro #Football #SportsBusiness #StadiumExperience #PitchsideSeats #SerieA #Marketing #FanEngagement #FootballInnovation

In the 2022/23 season, Real Madrid C.F. emerged as the club with the highest operating revenue globally, reaching €830 million and surpassing Manchester City FC. The newly crowned Spanish and UCL champions recorded a 16% revenue growth (+30% compared to 2020/21). Furthermore, according to the club estimates, the new Santiago Bernabéu stadium is expected to significantly boost Real Madrid’s matchday revenue, potentially reaching €300 million. Combined with the new, financially more lucrative formats of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup, and the potential commercial impact of the signing of Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid are favored in the race to €1 billion in operating revenues. #RealMadrid #Revenue #footballbusiness
