What was your very first paid job? And what did you learn then that you can still apply today?
🪞 Reflecting on my journey that kicked off at Burger King when I was 16! 🍔 From working the drive-thru to corporate triumphs, it's been an incredible ride. 🚀 Here are some priceless lessons I've carried from the milkshake machine to the executive meetings:
1️⃣ Teamwork: Just like working with the kitchen staff, collaboration is key to success. 🤝🏽
2️⃣ Adaptability: Handling a fast-paced drive-thru prepared me for corporate curveballs. 🔄
3️⃣ Customer Focus: Making hot fries or enhancing service/process models, customer satisfaction is paramount. 👑
4️⃣ Work Ethic: Late night & double shifts taught me the power of hard work and dedication. ⏰
5️⃣ Leadership: Whether leading the frontline crew or a corporate team, leadership skills are timeless. 🌟
Here's to the journey from the flame grill to the office! 🎂🥳 (and yes, I keep everything 😜😊)

Along with showing appreciation for your employees with kind words such as, " Your killed it team", here are other ways to show them you how much they are appreciated. I can help you curate the perfect options.
Employee Appreciation Day is March 1, and we can't think of a better way to show your appreciation than with a bottle of wine that makes an impact! Below are a few ways to celebrate with your teams:
🏢 host an in-office happy hour featuring of your favorite ONEHOPE Wines
📦 ship your teammates their favorite ONEHOPE Wines for a virtual toast
🍷 work with our team of wine experts to host a virtual wine tasting
Message gifting@onehopewine.com to learn more and get started planning your employee appreciation event today! 👔
In my role, one of my primary goals is to regularly foster a sense of well-being and tie our company core values into the daily activities of the organization. “Show appreciation” is one of the easiest, yet most creative values I get to act on. I am constantly challenged with coming up with new ideas to show our employees how much we appreciate them, and although it can be a challenge at times trying to please every type of person and work with budget constraints, sometimes the simplest ideas work out the best. Queue Taco Tuesday! Everyone’s favorite weekly holiday.
This morning we brought in Taco supplies and had the staff make their own Taco in a Bag.
This mini celebration takes away no time from employees who feel too busy to participate in company activities, works for most types of diets and is a fun , more unique option than ordering in pizza ( although, everyone loves pizza once in a while).
Grateful to work for a company who allows me to explore my creativity, and rarely says no to the ideas I bring that I feel will benefit the human side of the organization. 👌
Experienced Pharmaceutical Field Reimbursement and Access Manager. Intentional Encourager and #intentionalencouragement expert. Author and former podcast host.
Day 22 of #IntentionalEncouragement month.
Encouragement is Versatile.
When I was 17, I got my first job at a grocery store in my hometown called Tradewell. My first manager was a guy named Delbert Oxley. Delbert firmly believed in cross training.
Although I was hired as a carryout, I was also a cashier, worked the deli department at night cutting lunch meat (after I turned 18), learned how to face the store, stock and many other tasks that help the store run more efficiently. Everybody there was trained that way being able to step into multiple roles in a minute's notice.
This is probably my favorite feature of encouragement. There's not just one way to encourage yourself.
I love laughter. The Bible says it does good like a medicine. Sometimes, though, the best encouragement is peace, tranquility or gratitude.
Don't pigeon-hole how you encourage yourself. Discover and implement multiple ways to get and keep yourself encouraged.
Time. Talent. Treasure. We are all stewards.
We spend 90,000 hours at work over our lifetimes. Stewardship is about more than just money. How we spend our time at work has a massive impact on our lives and the lives of those we love. Spend it doing something you are passionate about. You’re making an impact for someone, somewhere. Recognize that and lean into it.
What is something you’ve learned about stewarding time that has changed your life and well being?

It’s time for another Hamra High Five!
Kimberly Chalifour is a Training General Manager for Southern Bread. She started as an Assistant Manager in 2017 and says she felt “like I was back where I belonged….If it weren’t for Hamra truly caring about people and making it a priority to grow and develop their people, I don’t know where life would have taken me.”
Kimberly has built an incredible career with Hamra, working for Boston Bread as a General Manager, Training Manager and Market Manager before moving to Southern Bread to serve as a General Manager, and now a Training General Manager.
Her favorite value in Hamra’s employee-created charter is FUN: “I believe life is hard enough and work shouldn’t make it any harder. Have fun! Every day presents a new challenge and when you go after your goals, the possibilities are endless.” When Kimberly isn’t working and building connections with her Southern Bread team members, you can find her spending time with her family, going to great restaurants–and getting her nails done.
Kimberly loves building and training dynamic teams, and that begins before anyone says a word: “The best advice I was ever given was that there is no such thing as neutral energy. You either add energy into a room or you take it. Bringing energy into a room makes a huge impact on your team and their work ethic.”
