Vehicle Project Manager - Sustainability chez Toyota Motor Europe

After several months investing my time in DE&I activities at Toyota Motor Europe, I can say I am proud of my company’s commitment. 🙇♂️ this commitment is embodied into the post below from Monica Perez Lobo (She / Her) and how a Diversity Advisory Board has been set up to enable various activities in the organisation. At OneGeneration Employee Resource Group, with a growing team of 13 core members 💪, we are tackling the delicate topic of ageism. It is my pride to lead this group with Diego Smet . Age is a peculiar diversity factor : it’s one where anyone travels through the whole spectrum during their lives. It’s quite unique among the diversity factors commonly tackled within organisations 🤷♂️. The challenges linked to age are often linked to society mega-trends, with for example the employability of older workers or the work-life balance aspirations of younger workers. The company environment is a great opportunity to put the topic on the table and start the conversation. That’s what we did at OneGeneration with #TimeTravellers roundtables offering TME employees a space to learn about stereotypes and age related challenges, exchange views, understand each other better and leverage #GenerationalWealth within the organisation. Kudos to #OneGeneration team for a great 2023. More to come in 2024 with many projects in preparation.

Vice President Corporate Affairs & Sustainability, Toyota Motor Europe/ Program Director, Toyota Mobility Foundation / Board Member CSR Europe

💼Yesterday we held our Diversity Advisory Board in Toyota Motor Europe. This Board with external advisors helps us to stay in sync with society and challenge our thinking to ensure that, as a company, we are progressing in the right direction. We also had the privilege to listen to our Employee Resource Groups who laid out their plans for the coming year. At #Toyota we have 5 of these employee-led networks that create a warm, welcoming safe space for under-represented groups and allies by increasing awareness, educating and advocating through a number of events throughout the year: 1️⃣ Gender Diversity Network to promote female representation 2️⃣ All Colours of the Rainbow for the LGBTIQ+ community and allies 3️⃣ Dis-Enable for the inclusion of all people with disabilities and allies 4️⃣ Cultural Diversity Network promoting cultural, racial, ethnic, religious and linguistic diversity 5️⃣ One Generation looking at age diversity in the workplace Ultimately our goal in Europe is to become the leading Toyota benchmark for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, globally. 🙏 And our employees do a terrific job reminding us of the importance of building a rich and diverse organisation that reflects society, where everyone feels respected for who they truly are. Many thanks to Yumi Otsuka Dr. Zaheer Ahmad MBE Stefan Crets Miriam Gonzalez Durantez Claudia Brind-Woody and Karen Northshieldmy and Toyota Motor Europe colleagues for their insights and contribution. 👉 https://brnw.ch/21wFlKN #diversity #equity #inclusion
