J U X T A P O S I T I O N. Creating impactful moments in hallways, particularly those with limited natural light, often comes with its own set of challenges. Typically, there isn’t enough space to fully appreciate art or a gallery wall, and adding a patterned wallpaper can feel overwhelming in these narrower spaces. In this design, we contrasted wide plank, painted wood paneling with large-scale, round mirrors to create a striking juxtaposition between the two patterns. On the ceiling oversized flush mounted light fixtures push the walls out while flooding the interior with ambient light. The result is an architecturally intriguing moment in an otherwise unremarkable corridor. When selecting wall art, it's crucial to take into account the wall's size and proportion. . For larger walls, consider oversized artwork or create a gallery wall with multiple pieces, varying in size and style, to make a bold statement. . Alternatively, for smaller walls, opt for modestly-sized artwork that complements the space without overwhelming it. . To determine the best size, measure the available wall space and envision how the artwork will fit. Consider leaving at least 6 to 12 inches of empty space on each side of the artwork for a balanced look. . For a gallery wall, lay out the arrangement on the floor first, playing with various layouts until you find the perfect composition. . Remember that less can be more; avoid overcrowding the wall with too many pieces, which can make the space feel cluttered. Instead, focus on creating a visually appealing and harmonious environment. . When in doubt, consult online resources or seek professional advice to ensure your wall art selections enhance the room's overall aesthetic and create the desired atmosphere. . #WallArt #WallSize #InteriorDesign #Artwork #HomeDecor #OversizedArt #GalleryWall #Proportion #Balance #DecorTips #ArtSelection #Aesthetic #Atmosphere #DesignInspiration #StatementPiece #SmallSpaces #LargeWalls #VisualAppeal #Harmony #ArtfulLiving #Measurements #Composition #ProfessionalAdvice

When it comes to painting the exterior of your home, some popular and timeless colour choices include: 1. Neutral colours such as white, beige, and gray - these shades are versatile and can compliment a variety of architectural styles. 2. Earthy tones like tan, brown, and olive green - these colours can blend in well with the natural surroundings and give your home a warm and inviting look. Ultimately, the best colour for your home's exterior will depend on factors such as your personal style, the architectural design of your home, and the overall look you are trying to achieve. When in doubt, it's always a good idea to consult with a professional painter or designer for expert advice! #paintingbypotter #betterthannew

Brown is a rich and warm colour that oozes with elegance and sophistication. Using shades of brown often brings a sense of timeless beauty to any space. A spiral staircase can be a stunning focal point, and incorporating these shades can enhance its attraction even further. To embrace this trend, you could consider using brown as the primary colour for a spiral staircase or even pairing brown interior colours with a more vibrant shade such as gold. Pairing this with intricate wrought iron railings or ornate detailing, can create a visually striking feature. Fun story about this one: I wanted to work with the lights off to avoid color casts on the blue cabinets, but this bathroom had ZERO natural light. So I worked in complete darkness, lighting the controls on my camera with my phone flashlight between flashes of off camera lighting. I probably looked crazy but I'm so happy with the final result!
