⭐️ The Land Development Agency reached a major milestone in 2024, launching its first direct delivery homes at Shanganagh Castle Estate in partnership with Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council. It is encouraging to see committed spending progressing in the North West region; the £24 million regeneration of the Wirral Waterfront Woodside programme is advancing, providing 1,700 homes, hotels and tourist attractions. Elsewhere, a consultation has opened for 900 homes in Wrexham. A 113-acre site is looking to be developed by the Harworth Group, including 20% affordable housing. The project is part of the Wrexham Local Development plan and will also include the construction of local amenities such as a primary school, sports pitches and infrastructure upgrades. The concerns surrounding the economy are evidenced by the administration of house builder Stewart Milne Homes, caused by rising costs and a challenging supply chain. Work underway on £20m Beverley housing development 🏘️ Work has started on a £20m residential development in Beverley. 🏠 Contracts have been exchanged to enable the building of more than 150 new houses in Mastin Moor, near Chesterfield. Vistry Group is expected to begin development on land south of Bolsover Road in High Ridding, after exchanging contracts with The Devonshire Property Group. The 11 acre site, which was previously agricultural land, will provide approximately 165 mixed tenure homes on the second phase of the wider Mastin Moor development, which will eventually deliver 650 homes alongside a local centre with retail and health facilities, as well as a community garden. Vistry Group has submitted a reserved matters application for 165 homes to Chesterfield Borough Council, with a determination expected in 2025. Devonshire Property Group has already constructed the main site infrastructure, in addition to an innovative Construction Skills Hub south of the site. The hub will offer sector specific training on the live construction sites in Mastin Moor, providing opportunities for future generations of builders to develop their skills. Harron Homes occupies phase one of the wider development, building new homes on a 16 acre piece of land to the south west. The consultation phase for 33 storey co-living development in the city centre has commenced. The proposed Custom House Street project is being developed by Watkin Jones, the UK’s leading developer and manager of residential properties for rent. Vistry Group has secured planning approval to build 140 new homes in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, in partnership with Places for People. This £31m development will provide a mix of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes, including 83 affordable properties, designed to meet the growing housing needs of the area. Construction will start in Spring 2025, with homes built using modern methods of construction to reduce carbon emissions, supporting both sustainability and community growth. The development will also offer green open spaces and be located within walking distance of the historic 11th-century Earl Shilton Castle. Andy Reynolds MD of Vistry South East Midlands, said: “We are thrilled to have secured planning permission to start work on these much-needed mixed-tenure homes in the historic town of Earl Shilton.
