Diversity is a fundamental concept that enriches every organization embracing it. From diversity comes the challenges and learnings of different view-points from other peoples’ experiences, environment and ideas Unfortunately, it is sometimes confused with or restricted to a required combination of diversified representatives of genders, ages/generation, cultural, ethnics, religious/philosophical/political aspiration not to mention physical particularities.  We often forget to add in this diversity consideration the business experiences, the numerous types of businesses, the complexity of non-core, famous, big, non-quoted/regulated companies. There are also in Luxembourg thousands of other companies, family business, craftsman, accounting firms and fiduciaries, boutiques, SMEs, shops, holdings/soparfi, PERE business, etc. which also require Independent Directors and contribute significantly to the Luxembourg economy and visibility. These businesses and their Directors’ mandates’ specificities have to be considered by ILA if it still pretends to be THE Institute for ALL Directors. I am convinced ILA has a role to play for all these Directors and must extend its consideration for those specific mandates and individuals in its training program, inclusion in committees and lobbying activities. This includes extending the cooperation and collaboration with other association or representatives (e.g. Chambre de Commerce, Chambre des Métiers, Fedil, etc.).

At ILA we embrace diversity every day. Our team of 13 people come from diverse backgrounds and origins, representing 8 different nationalities! We experience firsthand how our diversity is a real strength. In honour of Diversity Day, we're excited to share with you a special celebration and a renowned singer from each of our countries of origin. Join us in celebrating diversity! 🌍 Read more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dVQxf5Vh #Diversity #Inclusion #CelebrateDiversity #DiversityDay #Diversity2024
