Ever heard of Tautiao? I didn't. However, Toutiao is known as one of the largest and most influential content platforms in China, with over 500 million monthly active users. It was founded in 2012 and gained huge popularity for its personalized news aggregator model. The company is growing incredibly fast, this is largely due to the Toutiao app being a pure mobile product that taps into China’s tenacity of mobile & mobile-optimized content. 85% of its users are under 35 years old! . For advertisers it offers besides the most common CPM (it is good to stimulate brand awareness and brand engagement) and CPC (cost for a click, it is good to stimulate conversions). They provide 4 more innovative ways for the advertiser: OCPC(Optimized Cost per Click) is the same as CPC with paying per click, yet it additionally introduces an estimated conversion ratio based on audience behavior into its bidding model. The way advertisers benefit from it is that they can achieve the same conversion goal with less cost. OCPM(Optimized Cost per Millennium) runs on the same mechanism. CPA(Cost Per Acquisition) means advertisers pay only when the conversion(set by advertiser) is completed. CPV (Cost Per View) only supports video ads. Jagat (Jagat Tech) a social network that is designed to get you out more with your friends instead of mindlessly scrolling on your phone, has surpassed 10 million users globally. The location-based social network, which launched earlier this year in March, wants to help people focus on real-life connections and make friends. The app, available on both iOS and Android, is essentially a social map for your friends and activities near you. Jagat features an interactive map interface that allows you to keep up with your friends in real-time and discover new people and activities around you. Jagat is somewhat similar to Snap-owned Zenly, a social map app that shut down last year. The startup is based in Singapore and Indonesia, and was founded by Jagat President Barry Beagen and CEO Xing Zhe Loy. “We had the same vision of taking on big tech and to really build something from Southeast Asia that could take on the world,” Beagen told TechCrunch. “We were also tired of mainstream social apps that are becoming more passive and we were both really excited about exploring the world and places and finding spontaneous ways to meet new friends – whether it’s for a hike, for a local concert, for a pick-up basketball game or just for a long walk.” #jagat #socialnetworking #maps #friends #tech

At just 10 years old, #ByteDance, the most valuable startup in the world, has shattered records for growth. In 2021, with 1.9 billion monthly active users in 150 countries, and an employee base of over 110,000, the company recorded an astonishing $58 billion in revenues. Most users know the company only by its hit short-video app TikTok, which has been downloaded over 3 billion times globally, a feat only exceeded by Meta and its family of apps. But ByteDance has actually churned out one wildly successful product after another — among them its initial hit, Toutiao, the most popular news app in China, which today has 320 million monthly active users, and Douyin, a short-video app that preceded TikTok. Last month we decided to make Medial available for download internationally. (Note we didn't launch it internationally as that would take weeks of dedicated work- just made it available for download). We have no marketing out of India and just wanted to see if anyone would download it. As of today these are the number of users on our APP from outside India- USA- 200 Users UAE- 100 Users Nepal 60 Users UK- 40 Users Canada- 40 Users Germany- 40 Users Singapore- 30 Users France- 30 Users Pakistan- 30 Users 25 more countries with approx 10-25 Users. All of them are using Medial regularly. Note that we didn't spend a dime on these users. It's all word of mouth and discovery. Apart from App, our Website has the second highest traffic from the USA- 10K Users! We feel Medial will become the gateway for exploring different countries' startup ecosystems and growth stories in the future. 🚀
